  • Patent number: 10427236
Abstract: Burner for a welding apparatus having a non-melting electrode, a wire feed device for a welding wire and a power feed device for introducing an electric heating current into the welding wire that is supplied. The wire feed device can be activated in two directions of advance and an electric voltage applied by the power feed device to the welding wire can be regulated to ignite an igniting arc between the tip of the welding wire and the workpiece.

  • Publication number: 20110114609
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for forming an end of a welding wire (13) having a defined material and a defined diameter for a threading procedure, wherein the welding wire (13) is delivered from a wire storage via at least one wire core (12) through a contact tube arranged in a welding torch (10), and to a corresponding device thereof. In order to enable automated forming of the end of a welding wire (13), according to the invention prior to the threading procedure, an electric arc (15) is generated between a contact plate (30) connected to a power source (2) and the welding wire (13) as a function of the material and the diameter of the welding wire (13) so as to form the end of the welding wire (13), wherein the end of the welding wire (13) is formed to be hemispherical and the diameter of the hemispherical end of the welding wire (13) does not substantially exceed the diameter of the welding wire (13).

  • Publication number: 20110073579
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a structure (1) at a surface of a work piece (4), the structure (1) standing out from the surface, wherein a welding process (7) with an at least partially fusing filler material (2) is used, wherein an arc (3) is ignited during a welding cycle (8) of the welding process (7) between the filler material (2) guided in a welding torch (5) and the work piece (4), and wherein the heat input during the welding process (7) is adjusted by controlling the welding parameters. In accordance with the invention it is provided that the structure (1) is manufactured step by step from a plurality of individual elements (6), wherein each individual element (6) is manufactured in one welding cycle (8) of the welding process (7), and wherein a welding break (9) is made after each welding cycle (8).

  • Publication number: 20100089887
Abstract: The invention describes a method for controlling a protective shield (29) by means of a welding device (1), wherein a signal is transmitted to a welding helmet (28) by the welding device (1), whereupon an electrically activatable protective shield (29) is activated by a transmitting/receiving apparatus (31) integrated in the welding helmet (28), and the protective shield (29) is darkened. Here, during the welding process, i.e. after ignition of the electric arc (15), the protective shield (29) is activated by a control device (4) of the welding device (1) via the transmitting/receiving apparatuses (30, 31), wherein intensity and/or degree of darkening of the protective shield (29) is changed during the welding process by repetitively darkening and brightening the protective shield (29) in an alternating manner. Thus, a better welding-process observation is achieved for the welder.

  • Patent number: 7638734
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the contactless ignition of a welding arc, in addition to a circuit (28) for the contactless ignition of an electric arc, comprising a charging circuit (31), at least one pulse capacitor (30), a decharging circuit containing a circuit, and a high tension converter (32) which is used to inject the high frequency ignition pulses discharged by the pulse capacitor (30) via the circuit to the welding electrode (27). In order to create said type of ignition method and an ignition circuit (28) which enables the welding arc to be ignited in an exact and/or safe and rapid manner and/or to create an improved ignition quality, the charge circuit (31) is connected to a pulse compression circuit (40) comprising the pulse capacitor (30), the high tension converter (32) and the circuit, the circuit being formed by a magnetic throttle valve (41), such that a high frequency circuit of the ignition pulse can be obtained.
