  • Patent number: 5922254
Abstract: A method and apparatus for preparing a mat of predetermined thickness from spreadable material for ligneous-material wall boards is disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 1, 1997
Date of Patent: July 13, 1999
Assignee: Schenck Panel Production System, GmbH
Inventors: Franz-Josef Ebert, Uwe Kunstmann, Walter Henschel, Hans-Werner Jost
  • Patent number: 5887515
Abstract: In a method for the continuous production of a running mat (6) of stocked particles (2) of different dimensions by the use of a conveyor spreading method, for the production of wood material boards or similar boards by subsequent pressing of the mat, for the solution of the problem of having a well-defined supporting plane for the spread material independently of the rotary speed of the spreading rolls, it is proposed that, during the conveyor spreading action (11), at first holdouts be formed deliberately and continuously over the entire spreading width and the entire spreading length of the conveyor spreading mechanism, out of which individual spreading is done for the continuous formation of the advancing mat (6); at the same time an apparatus is proposed for the practice of the method for the performance of the already-named tasks.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4990052
Abstract: In a process for the production of a uniform flow of particles to be discharged over the width of a hopper, such as cellulose or mineral fibers or glue-coated chips or mixtures for the production of boards consisting of these materials, a feeding device is arranged above the hopper transversely to the longitudinal axis of the hopper for discharging particles into the hopper. A stationary feed arranged to the side of the hopper supplies particles to the feeding device. The feeding device includes a horizontal belt conveyor which carries the particles from the stationary feed to the hopper. The entire feeding device moves back and forth during this procedure whereby the particles are deposited into the hopper from one side thereof to the other. This prevents or substantially eliminates the particles from lumping or sticking together in the hopper which might otherwise occur if the particles were simply directly supplied to the hopper from a stationary source.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4931243
Abstract: Process and apparatus for spreading a chip web from a supply over a width corresponding to the web width on a substrate moving below the supply. Such spreading is accomplished according to a web height distribution specified in the web transversely to the direction of web travel. The apparatus includes a rake-like distribution device and a distribution chute arranged between the supply and the web laydown for the purpose of eliminating defects caused by delivery elements in the transverse distribution of the chip web. An arrangement of several rakes inclined toward one another functions to control the transverse chip distribution.

  • Patent number: 4865798
Abstract: A process for the production of a fiber web on a movable, gas-permeable surface of a continuous laydown belt which is under vacuum and which forms a distribution chamber. After the fibers are mechanically opened, the fiber flow is conducted into the distribution chamber by means of an air current and additional air currents are delivered to the distribution chamber. An additional air current is introduced into the distribution chamber for the purpose of preventing a lumping together of fibers prior to the laydown in the web while the carrying air current is delivered to the distribution chamber in a nozzle-shaped chute. After the fibers have been laid down in a web, the web is precompressed by means of a controllable vacuum.

  • Patent number: 4852718
Abstract: In a process for the transportation and accumulation of pallets, guide or retaining rollers are arranged on a traction element on an axle. Elastic guiding of the support and retaining rollers in relation to the traction element is accomplished and elastic centering in relation to the traction element results in a straight line operation with conveyors used for the transportation of pallets and large area objects. Reduced maintenance and wear, reduction of noise level of the conveying equipment, prevention of acceleration and braking jolts to the goods to be conveyed and assured parallel guiding of conveyor belts are advantageous of the present invention. Clear centering of the support rollers and of the retaining rollers in relation to the conveyor is also obtained with a device for the transportation and accumulation of pallets as a result of a lagging of the retaining rollers and support rollers behind the axle mount therefor.
