  • Patent number: 6656250
Abstract: Method and apparatus for wet-cleaning crude gas streams, the method involving a flow of the crude gas stream without a pressure drop or with a low pressure drop up to 30 mbar, preferably up to 20 mbar, flowing through one or more parallel venturi throats which is/are sprayed with a scrubbing liquid via one or more periodically pulsating hybrid nozzles.

  • Patent number: 5639024
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for the simultaneous atomisation and dispersion of at least two liquids using propellant gas, whereby the resulting gas-liquid mixture is led through an atomising chamber comprising expansion zones arranged in series and flows out in the form of a spray cone from a nozzle orifice mounted downstream of the atomising chamber.

  • Patent number: 5634413
Abstract: In the method, the liquid waste substance is vaporized and oxidized in a stream of hot flue gas 4. This stream of flue gas 4 contains the oxygen necessary for oxidation. The essence of the method is that the liquid waste substance is sprayed into the stream of hot flue gas 4 as a fan-shaped flat jet with a component which is perpendicular to the main direction of flow, by means of one or more dual-substance nozzles 6 which are operated in a pulsed mode at a frequency of 5 s.sup.-1 to 70 s.sup.-1, and preferably 10 s.sup.-1 to 20 s.sup.-1, a fan-shaped spray carpet 7 with relatively large droplets of large range and a fan-shaped spray carpet 7 with relatively fine droplets of small range being generated in an alternating cycle at each dual-substance nozzle 6, so that the stream of flue gas 4 is supplied alternately with finely sprayed droplets of small range and large droplets which penetrate the flue gas with a relatively large range of throw. Numerals refer to FIG. 1.

  • Patent number: 5453258
Abstract: In the device for selective non-catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides, a liquid nitrogen-containing reducing agent is sprayed through two-component lances into a stream of hot flue gases. Spraying occurs in pulsatory operation at a frequency of 5 to 70 per second, preferably 10 to 20 per second. As a result of this mode of operation, a spray cone of relatively coarse long-range drops and a spray cone of relatively fine short-range drops are produced alternately at each two-component nozzle. The reducing agent is ammonia dissolved in water (ammonia solution) at flue-gas temperatures of 1060.degree. C. to 1170.degree. C. The device for working the method comprises a flue-gas duct 3 incorporating a number of two-component lances 4 operated by a pressure medium.

  • Patent number: 5310416
Abstract: The separation process and apparatus is based on conducting the explosive gas or vapour through a mass transfer column which is charged with an absorbent and filled with an electrically conductive packing. The packing (2) of the mass transfer column (1) must be earthed and have such a dense lattice spacing that no electric charge sufficient for ignition can accumulate at any point in the packing. Under these conditions, a non-conductive electrostatically chargeable liquid may be used as absorption liquid.
