  • Publication number: 20220357966
Abstract: Switching shells attached to a terminal. Suppose that a shell has already output text into the terminal, and at that point a new shell is to be attached to the terminal. That subsequent shell is then started up, and text output is gathered from that new shell. Content representing that new shell is then displayed in the terminal. As an example, if the output is the same for the new shell as it was for the old shell, the terminal can just keep the old output displayed in the terminal, and eliminate the need to also output the identical output from the new shell. If the output of the new shell is different than that of the old shell, the terminal may be refreshed and the new content rendered perhaps in a single frame and/or without displaying text associated with this switching activity.

  • Publication number: 20210319166
Abstract: Tools and techniques enhance presentation and editing of notebook documents and other multicell multicategory documents. Some embodiments improve presentation performance by distinguishing non-viewable cells and then not connecting an editor to a particular cell until that cell is viewable. Some improve security by separating cell content rendering based on the category of content in each cell. Notebook cell content such as markdown language code or scripts can be rendered in a sandbox for added security. Some embodiments allow shared scope and other communication between cells that contain respective executable contents, instead of placing each rendered cell in its own isolated context. Some permit the order in which executable cells are presented visually to differ from the order in which those cells are executed. Integrated development environments may be enhanced to have editors for notebook documents, including notebook editors that have the same first-class status as source code editors.

  • Publication number: 20200050431
Abstract: Extensions to add functionality to an extensible computing technology development tool are identified and recommended to developers based at least in part on which tool extensions are being intensively used by developers working in the same or similar usage contexts. Usage contexts are specified in terms of projects, workspaces, repositories, and optionally their branches, forks, clones, or remotes, for example. Telemetry data voluntarily provided from developer systems is gathered and processed at a backend system to produce a data structure listing some top (in terms of use) tool extensions. This data structure is provided to developer systems, to serve as a basis for automatically recommending top tool extensions to developers, e.g., when they open a project or a workspace. This automatic recommendation relieves developers of the burden of researching extensions to try and choose the ones most likely to help them efficiently and effectively develop implementations of computing technology.

  • Patent number: 5324732
Abstract: 1.5 Fumaric acid salts of N,N'-di-lower alkyl-substituted 9,9-alkylene-3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1 ]nonanes and a process for obtaining them in stoichiometrically pure and virtually non-hygroscopic form.

  • Patent number: 5175347
Abstract: A process for preparing cis-dihydronopol and esters thereof in which corresponding esters of (-)nopol are stereoselectively hydrogenated by heterogeneous hydrogenation in the presence of a platinum, platinum oxide or ruthenium/carbon catalyst, and the resulting cis-dihydronopyl esters optionally may be converted into corresponding alcohols by hydrolysis.

  • Patent number: 4965369
Abstract: A method of preparing indole carboxylic acid derivatives from aniline derivatives is described which can be carried out in a single reaction vessel without any isolation of intermediate products. The method involes reacting an aniline derivative with a soluble nitrite in an acid medium, reducing the resulting nitrosamine by treating the acidic nitrosamine containing reaction solution with zinc in the presence of sufficient acid, optionally with addition of additional acid and/or a solvent such as a lower alcohol, reacting the resulting hydrazine derivative containing solution with a lower alkyl ester of pyruvic acid to obtain a corresponding hydrazone which cyclizes to yield an indole carboxylic acid ester, and if desired, hydrolyzing the ester to obtain the corresponding carboxylic acid.

  • Patent number: 4831167
Abstract: A process for producing cis-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-3-amino-1-benzoxepin-5-ols in which 3-amino-1-benzoxepin-5(2H)-ones are diastereoselectively reduced in a single stage by catalytic hydrogenation in the presence of a platinum oxide catalyst and an equivalent amount of an acid in a polar protic solvent, or by reaction with a borane/amine complex in an aprotic solvent, optionally in the presence of an added lower aliphatic carboxylic acid.
