  • Publication number: 20060156475
Abstract: The present invention relates to textile sheetlike constructions having an enhanced watertightness and also to a process for producing them. It was found that, surprisingly, the watertightness of porous textile sheetlike constructions is enhanced when a coating of hydrophobic particles having an average particle size in the range from 0.02 to 100 ?m is applied to the surfaces of the fibers. The textile sheetlike constructions can be used for example as textile building materials or for producing tents, umbrellas or the like.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 21, 2005
    Publication date: July 20, 2006
    Applicant: DEGUSSA AG
Inventors: Markus Oles, Gerhard Schoepping, Peter Rudek, Peter Mayr, Uwe Marg, Edwin Nun, Bernhard Schleich

  • Publication number: 20040194234
Abstract: The invention relates to a dyed and/or printed non-woven fabric consisting of non-split and/or at least partially split microfibres and/or microfilaments consisting of synthetic polymers containing at least one polyester constituent and at least one polyamide constituent and, optionally, at least one polyurethane constituent, said fabric having been dyed and/or printed by means of at least one azo dye which is produced on the non-woven fabric. The invention also relates to a method for dyeing and/or printing the inventive fabric.

    Inventors: Heike Bartl, Uwe Marg
  • Publication number: 20040045144
Abstract: A method for improving a quality of a fabric includes providing a nonwoven fabric a polyester component and a polyamide component, and subjecting the nonwoven fabric to at least one physical treatment so as to improve at least one of a softness and a drape of the nonwoven fabric.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20030221301
Abstract: A method of preventing or at least reducing the pilling of nonwovens of unsplit and/or at least partially split microfibers and/or microfilaments of synthetic polymers containing at least one polyester component and at least one polyamide component and, if necessary, at least one polyurethane component. The method includes treating the nonwoven physically at least once.
