  • Publication number: 20060024129
Abstract: A connecting element for suspending an article from a structural element and for detachably connecting several articles with one another has a center part, a first lateral end area and a second lateral end area, wherein a first bent area connects the first lateral end area to the center part and a second bent area connects the second lateral end area to the center part. The first and second end areas are positioned within a common first plane and the center part is positioned in a second plane. The first plane and the second plane are parallel to one another and spaced at a spacing from one another. The spacing between the first and second planes is defined by a height of the first and second bent areas, respectively. The connecting element has two lateral openings; or a central cutout; or two lateral openings and a central cutout.

  • Patent number: 6702505
Abstract: A hook element for detachably connecting two objects with one another has a first hook shank, a second hook shank, and a hook bow connecting the first and second hook shanks with one another. The hook bow has a lateral cutout. At least one of the first and second hook shanks has a slanted contact surface. The slanted contact surface extends on the front side of the hook shank from the outer side to the inner side and extends along the forward edge of the hook shank over the entire length of the hook shank. The hook elements can be easily connected to one another even when not aligned but rotated relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 6283671
Abstract: A connecting element provides a releasable connection between two objects, with a basic body element (2), for which an essentially L-shaped hook (4) is provided, with a hook bow (5) and a hook body (6) running essentially parallel to the basic body element (2). In this situation, the L-shaped hook (4) features in the area of the hook bow (5) a lateral cutout (7). To advantage, a longitudinal aperture (9) is provided in the bow (5) of the L-shaped hook (4) and in the basic body element (2), in which a locking bar can be inserted, which is jointed to a horizontal axis (11, 11′) of the L-shaped hook (4). In this situation, the locking bar can be pivoted in against the force of a spring provided on the axis (11, 11′), into the area (8) between the hook body element (6) and the basic body element (2).

  • Patent number: 6076427
Abstract: The invention relates to a bicycle pedal with a crank arm at whose radially outer end a pedal body is provided in the usual way. The latter, with respect to the crank arm, can rotate freely around a horizontal transverse axis (1) that runs perpendicularly to the crank arm, while the pedal body itself (2, 24, 25) can also pivot around a longitudinal axis (32) that runs in the direction of travel in a horizontal plane and that intersects the transverse axis (1). The pedal system also has first connecting elements (30, 35) that can be detachably connected to complementary second connecting elements provided on the shoe of a user. The longitudinal axis (32) running in the direction of travel of the bicycle and permitting rotation of the pedal lies either between the pedal body (2, 24, 25) and the first connecting elements (30, 35) or between the second connecting element and the shoe of the user.

  • Patent number: 5979023
Abstract: A connecting element (1) is provided for attaching drink crates (10), packing pockets or other containers to each other or to a bicycle luggage carrier (12) or similar mounting rod (11). In order to connect two objects securely and firmly to each other for transport using a connecting element (1) of this type, and yet also when necessary to be able to detach them again easily, the hook-shaped connecting element (1) is constructed to have its essentially S-shaped and opposingly directed hook parts (2, 3) as flat hooks having a flat longitudinal extension transverse to the hook plane, wherein the hook parts (2, 3) grip around the respectively fastened object (10) in a form-fit manner shaped to a securing region on the object, and wherein a securing device is provided which closes the opening of the hook parts to a great extent.

  • Patent number: 5810230
Abstract: Convertible bags may be fastened to supports on a bicycle in a first configuration and are fastened together to form a knapsack in a second configuration. The convertible bags comprise at least first and second bags, each having a rear wall with a reinforcement adapted to face the bicycle. Fittings are attached to the rear walls of the at least first and second bags. The fittings include a connector elements which releasably connect the bags to the bicycle in the first configuration. The fittings attached to the first bag are arranged in complementary positions to the fittings attached to the second bag, and at least one fitting on one of the first and second bags further includes a receiving element in which the connector element on the complementarily positioned fitting on the other of the first and second bags is engaged when the first and second bags are in the second configuration.

  • Patent number: 5667117
Abstract: A fastening device for alternatively fastening bags (4, 5, 7, 8) on a bicycle consists of a hanging device arranged on an upper fitting, which engages a fastening device located on the bicycle frame or a reception device, forming a knapsack (84) together with other bags (4, 5, 6, 7, 8). Whereas the fittings of the front wheel bags (7, 8) are equipped with hanging elements, the fittings of the rear wheel bags (7, 8) are provided with reception devices. The rear wheel bags (7, 8) may be linked to the bicycle frame by means of a carrier fastened only to the saddle support. Thus the bags (4, 5, 7, 8) may be in no time and in a modular manner, by insertion, mounted on or dismounted from the bicycle or assembled together into a knapsack and disassembled.
