  • Patent number: 8459952
Abstract: A device for connecting a blade to a rotor shaft of a continuous flow machine, includes a first fork foot which has a quantity of first foot lugs with first bore holes, a second fork foot which has a quantity of second foot lugs with second bore holes, and at least one connection bolt which passes through first and second bore holes to connect the first fork foot to the second fork foot. The device has a first area with a predetermined first diameter difference between a first inner diameter of one of the bore holes and a first outer diameter of the connection bolt, and a second area with a predetermined second diameter difference between a second inner diameter of one of the bore holes and a second outer diameter of the connection bolt, wherein the first diameter difference and the second diameter difference differ from one another.

  • Patent number: 6491771
Abstract: A process and device for the production of continuously cast billets in a production plant employs a vertical, round strand-casting machine with horizontal run-out, at least one descaling device, and several following roll stands. For the production of round billets with diameters in the range of 90-300 mm, after the solidifying round billet has left the mold but before it has entered the following rolling unit, its surface is descaled and the area near the surface is cooled in defined manner to a temperature which is optimum for the grade of steel in question before the round billet is worked, first over the course of at least three successive horizontal passes then in a vertical pass, the surface of the preworked billet being descaled again before the last pass.

  • Patent number: 6451136
Abstract: A method for producing hot-rolled strip and plates in a production plant having a continuous casting installation for slabs 100-180 mm thick, descaling sprays, a single- or multiple-stand rolling unit with or without edging, a cooling interval, a heating furnace, and a Steckel mill. Between the continuous casting installation and the heating furnace, only the skin layer of the previously descaled slab is deformed in-line, recrystallized during and after deformation, and then cooled in several stages to a temperature below the Ar3 transformation point and temporarily maintained there until the microstructural transformation of the recrystallized, fine-grained austenite to ferrite/pearlite has been completed.

  • Patent number: 6408668
Abstract: A supporting or intermediate roll in rolling mills for rolling flat rolling stock, in particular strip material, having a cylindrical roll core and a tubular sleeve which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to said roll core, engages coaxially around the same and between which and the roll core there are arranged hydraulically axially displaceable supporting bodies which support the roll sleeve against the roll core. In this case, the supporting bodies are formed with at least two annular pistons, which are arranged symmetrically in relation to the roll center and are sealed in relation to the roll core and the inside of the roll sleeve, and include a plurality of annular supporting bearings, which are arranged on the outer circumference of the pistons, are spaced apart from one another in the longitudinal direction of the roll and against which the inner surface of the roll sleeve can be positioned.

  • Patent number: 5839314
Abstract: The present invention relates to a roll housing with a closed frame construction, particularly for heavy roll stands for rolling sheet metal and strip. The roll housing includes two vertical members which delimit the housing window for accommodating and guiding chucks which support the roll. The vertical members have inner surfaces parallel to one another. Upper and lower traverse bars connect the vertical members. The outer sides of each vertical member, which are remote from the housing window, recede toward the housing window between the upper and lower traverse bars such that the shortest distance between the inner surface and outer surface of each of the two vertical members is at a middle position between the upper and lower traverse bars.
