  • Patent number: 11262031
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cable having a light-emitting element. An exemplary embodiment of the cable has, in addition to the light-emitting element, a cable core comprising at least one cable construction element. The cable also has a reflective layer, which at least partially surrounds the cable core along a tangential direction with respect to a cable axis of the cable and which is designed to reflect light that is emitted by the light-emitting element. The cable also has a sheath, which is designed to conduct the light emitted by the light-emitting element around the cable core substantially in the tangential direction and to couple said light out substantially in the radial direction with respect to the cable axis. The reflectivity of the reflective layer varies in the tangential direction.

  • Patent number: 10529462
Abstract: A cable is used, in particular, as an underwater cable and contains a central element, which is surrounded by a cable sheath. The cable sheath has an inner hydrophobic sheath layer made of a first plastic and an outer sheath layer applied to same and made of a different plastic to the inner sheath layer. A polyolefin-type plastic is used for the inner sheath layer and one of the sheath layers, in particular the inner sheath layer is chemically functionalized, and a sealed connection is formed between the two sheath layers.

  • Publication number: 20180096753
Abstract: A data cable includes a plurality of cores each having a conductor surrounded by core insulation, providing the cores with a plurality of prescribed telecommunications transmission parameters. The core insulation includes a plurality of flame-retardant layers having a mineral, electrically insulating and flame-resistant first material, for maintaining functional integrity in the event of fire.
