  • Patent number: 8733329
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine and an exhaust gas system, which comprises an exhaust gas line by means of which the exhaust gas can be removed from the internal combustion engine, as well as an exhaust gas recirculation line by means of which the exhaust gas can be recirculated into the internal combustion engine from the exhaust gas line. The exhaust gas recirculation line has an exhaust gas cooler and a condensate line for removing the condensate from the recirculated exhaust gas, wherein the condensate line is connected with a first end to the exhaust gas recirculation line downstream of the exhaust gas cooler in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas and with a second end to the exhaust gas line.

  • Patent number: 8536769
Abstract: The invention refers to a prechamber spark plug comprising an ignition electrode with several electrode arms. The ignition electrode is made of a cross-shaped blank that is cut out of sheet metal and then the electrode arms are set upright by bending. The sheet metal is made of iridium or an iridium-based alloy by rolling in a rolling direction and the ignition electrode blank is cut out in such a way that an angle of 50° or less is present between each of the electrode arms and the rolling direction (W).

    Assignee: DKT Verwaltungs-GmbH
Inventors: Dieter Kuhnert, Georg Maul, Uwe Sailer
  • Patent number: 8324792
Abstract: The invention relates to a pre-chamber spark plug with a housing which, at its forward end, comprises a pre-chamber with a plurality of openings, an insulator arranged in the housing, a center electrode which is surrounded by the insulator and supports an ignition electrode arranged in the pre-chamber which comprises a plurality of electrode arms, wherein the electrode arms each comprise a rear section which extends in a transverse direction in relation to the longitudinal direction of the center electrode and a forward section which extends along a pre-chamber wall and forms a spark gap between itself and the pre-chamber wall. It is provided according to the invention that the electrode arms are embedded in the center electrode and project from a lateral surface of the center electrode. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method according to the invention.

  • Publication number: 20110232613
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine and an exhaust gas system with an exhaust gas line by means of which exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine can be discharged, and an exhaust gas recirculation line by means of which exhaust gas from the exhaust gas line can be recirculated to an intake manifold of the internal combustion engine. In the exhaust gas recirculation line, there is an exhaust gas cooler which can move relative to the internal combustion engine. Due to the relative mobility, the exhaust gas cooler can be located at a distance from the internal combustion engine so that direct delivery of heat from the internal combustion engine into the exhaust gas cooler is avoided. This improves the cooling performance of the exhaust gas cooler and enables the use of less heat-resistant materials.
