  • Patent number: 5349537
Abstract: A hydraulically damped rubber bearing, that supports a vibrating mechanical subassembly on a substructure, has an actuator with an electromagnetic drive mechanism associated with a fluid filled chamber. The drive mechanism is responsive to performance characteristic controls which are electrically connected to at least one signal emitter in the subassembly and have a final stage in the front of a power amplifier.

  • Patent number: 5346192
Abstract: A rubber bearing, in which a liquid-filled working chamber is bounded by an expanding member and by a compensating wall that is capable of moving back and forth in the direction of the working chamber, wherein the compensating wall consists at least partially of a material that is capable of being moved by magnetic forces and extends relatively movably with one partial area into an air gap between a pair of coils comprised of two mutually opposing magnetic coils, which are rigidly supported in two coil braces and are capable of receiving an electric alternating current. The magnetic fluxes of the magnetic coils in the air gap are superimposed upon the magnetic flux of at least one permanent magnet, and the magnetic coils synchronously receive an electric current in such a way that the magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet is strengthened on one side of the compensating wall and weakened on the other side of the compensating wall.

Each electromagnet has at least one coil capable of receiving a d.c. current and at least one coil capable of receiving an a.c. current. In the opposing electromagnets, current traverses either the direct current coils or the alternating coils in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 5236186
Abstract: A vibration damper comprising a magnet having a mass m and an elasticity c.sub.1, and a spring element of flexibly compliant material having an elasticity c.sub.2, wherein the magnet is mounted on the spring element so that the resiliency c.sub.1 of the magnet and the resiliency c.sub.2 of the spring element form an combined elasticity c.sub.tot of the vibration damper. The vibration damper is attached to a plate of magnetizable material which exhibits an interference frequency .omega..sub.1 and is attracted to the magnet. The magnet is movable relative to said plate in every operating position. The mass m and elasticity c.sub.1 of the magnet and the elasticity c.sub.2 of the spring element are adjusted to achieve a natural frequency .omega..sub.0 on the basis of the formula: ##EQU1## so as to allow the resulting natural frequency .omega..sub.0 to be adjusted in accordance with the interference frequency .omega..sub.1 of the plate.
