  • Patent number: 6245343
Abstract: The invention relates to a foaming pulverulent composition for cleaning and/or caring for the skin. The composition includes a cosmetically acceptable binder and a pulverulent filler which is insoluble in the binder and which is present in an amount sufficient to structure the composition and to confer on it the appearance of a deformable solid in which the binder is trapped. The pulverulent filler includes solid particles of thermoplastic polymer and at least one surfactant in pulverulent form. The composition foams when it is hydrated.

  • Patent number: 6045814
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use in cosmetics of rigid gels containing at least 20% by weight of one or more water-soluble or hydrophilic gelling agent(s) which may be obtained from the said water-soluble or hydrophilic gelling agent in the presence of water by mixing, blending, compression and extrusion in a twin-screw extruder. These gels constitute novel pharmaceutical forms for cosmetic or dermatological use. These gels are generally in the form of sticks, pencils or cakes. They may be aqueous with a matrix consisting of an aqueous gelled network. They may be in anhydrous form with a matrix consisting of a dehydrated gelled network. They may constitute many products in solid form applied to making up, to care of and/or to treatment of the skin, the scalp, the hair or the mucous membranes, or alternatively applied to the hygiene of the body, the skin, the scalp, the hair or the mucous membranes.

  • Patent number: 6036968
Abstract: A composition in smooth paste form which is particularly homogeneous although it comprises, on the one hand, at least one lipophilic component such as fatty substances and, on the other hand, at least one hydrophilic component such as polyhydric alcohols and/or an aqueous phase, and the process for preparing such a composition.

  • Patent number: 6007830
Abstract: The present invention relates to expanded solid compositions whose matrix comprises a cellular network formed from a starch-rich product and contains at least some expanded thermoplastic hollow particles of polymer or copolymer of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer or mixture of such monomers. These compositions constitute new dosage forms for cosmetic or dermatological use. These compositions either take the form of expanded cylinders, pellets, leaves or flakes, or the form of powder. When reduced to the powder state, they may also be used as a make-up or hygiene composition to be rehydrated or to be used as such.

  • Patent number: 5900241
Abstract: The use in cosmetics of expanded solid compositions whose matrix contains an alveolar network made from a natural product or from a derivative of a natural product capable of being expanded. These compositions constitute novel galenic forms for cosmetic or dermatological use. These compositions may be in the form of rolls, pellets, sheets or flakes which are expanded or in the form of powder. When reduced to a powdered state, these compositions can also be rehydrated or employed as a pulverulent phase in make-up compositions, in particular, in compacted make-up powders.

  • Patent number: 5763500
Abstract: The present application relates to expanded solid compositions whose matrix comprises a cellular network formed from a starch-rich product and contains size-graded spheroidal polyamide particles. These compositions constitute new dosage forms for cosmetic or dermatological use. These compositions take either the form of expanded cylinders, pellets, leaves or flakes, or the form of powder. When reduced to the powder state, these compositions may also be used as pulverulent phase in make-up compositions, in particular make-up powders.
