One example method includes receiving a selection of a service from a plurality of services; determining whether the selected service supports sending a voice message; recording the voice message using a mobile communication device; sending the voice message from the mobile communication device using the selected service if the selected service supports sending the voice message.

Abstract: A system and method for managing voice mail messages associated with a mobile device. The method can include receiving, by a processor of the mobile device, at least one identifier associated with a sending device that initially stored, external to the mobile device, a visual voice mail message associated with the mobile device. The processor can compare the at least one identifier with one or more lists of predetermined identifiers stored on the mobile device. The one or more lists include at least one of a list of approved predetermined identifiers and a list of disapproved predetermined identifiers. Based on the comparison, appropriated actions can occur based on rules stored on the mobile device.

Abstract: An apparatus, and an associated method, that causes indication to be made to alert a user or other viewer of a communication device that a message, notification, or other information indicia has been acted upon by a rule of a rule set. A determiner determines that the indicia has been acted upon by a rule of the rule set and an indication is caused to be generated. The indication is displayed at a display device, together with an indication of the associated message, notification, or indicia, thereby to alert the viewer of the action taken upon the indicia.

Abstract: A wireless handheld telephony device comprising a microprocessor, machine-readable memory, and machine-readable instructions configured to cause the device to: receive from a telecommunications server signals representing a request to establish with the device a communications session for an incoming voice call; using at least one of data coded within the received signals and data associated with at least one application executable by the device, determine whether at least one pre-set voicemail criterion has been satisfied; based on the determination whether at least one pre-set voicemail criterion has been satisfied, select, from a plurality of voicemail data sets stored in memory resident on the device, a voicemail data set to be transmitted to the server; and transmit to the server signals representing the selected voicemail data set.

Abstract: The described embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for generating calendar events that include contact information. In example embodiments, upon an unanswered incoming call being regarded as a missed call, a calendar event is generated and stored in a calendar database. The generated calendar event includes contact information corresponding to the missed call. The systems and methods also provide notifications based on a scheduled calendar event, wherein the notifications provide an option to directly place an outgoing call to the contact information included in the calendar event.
