Abstract: The invention relates to cosmetic compositions which are intended to be used for the treatment of keratin substances. These compositions contain at least one bis(quaternary ammonium) derivative with two lipophilic chains, corresponding to the formula ##STR1## in which R denotes a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched aliphatic group having from 8 to 22 carbon atoms, or a mixture of such groups, or mixtures of lipophilic chains derived from natural products having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms, A denotes a group --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --, in which n denotes and integer from 1 to 18, R' denotes hydrogen and m=1, it also being possible for A to form a heterocyclic group together with the nitrogen atoms to which it is bonded, in which case m=O, and X.sup.- denotes and anion derived from a mineral or organic acid.

Abstract: Compounds of the formulaR--CONH--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O--CH.sub.2 --CHOH--CH.sub.2 --O].sub.n Hwherein R represents an aliphatic radical or mixture thereof, linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, optionally carrying one or more hydroxyl groups, having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms, of natural or synthetic origin; and n representing a whole or decimal number from 1 to 5 represents the average degree of condensation.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition comprises a cosmetically acceptable vehicle and at least one copolymer having units of a vinyl, allyl or methally ester of an .alpha.- or .beta.-cyclic carboxylic acid. A process for producing the said copolymer comprises reacting the monomeric constituents of the copolymer at a temperature between 45.degree.-100.degree. C. for a period ranging from 6 to 24 hours.

Abstract: A compound of the formula ##SPC1##Wherein R is -alkylaminodialkyl, -alkylmorpholino or -alkylpiperidino and X is halogen, the alkyl portion of R having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and the salts of said compound. This compound can be used as an intermediate to produce hair dyes.
