  • Patent number: 10511940
Abstract: The aim of the disclosed method is to measure and analyze the movement of mobile devices utilizing their communication with a telecommunication network. This includes receiving telecommunication control data associated with the mobile devices, which comprise at least a timestamp, a unique identifier of the mobile device and information on the location of the device. The corresponding data is organized in data objects, which group all data sets associated with a single mobile device identifier. The data objects are extended by additional attributes, which can be derived using algorithms that parse the data objects. The objects are thus extended in a way that all information stored in the data objects, i.e. the raw telecommunication control data and the attributes, is available for all subsequent analysis.

  • Patent number: 8862055
Abstract: The present solution defines groups of users with mobile devices that will be used for the outdoor activity. A group of users may defined with mobile computing devices capable of sending and receiving certain data via radio waves. Each of these devices is equipped with at least one button which can be pressed to invoke the grouping process. One additional mobile computing device capable of sending and receiving information via radio waves and able to receive and store information from any of the mobile computing devices, store these, allow any of the same computing devices to retrieve this information and able to send such information to one or mobile computing devices in such a way that the information arrives at the mobile computing devices via radio waves.

  • Patent number: 8774851
Abstract: The present solution is directed to establishing a group server for a group of mobile devices comprising a private mobile radio module. Each of the mobile devices of a group may have a private mobile radio module. A modular server unit detachable from and interfaced to a mobile device of the group is activated as a group server responsive to detaching the modular server unit from the mobile device. The modular server unit may include the private mobile radio which may be deactivated responsive to activating the modular server unit. The modular server unit may receive data from a plurality of mobile devices of the group of mobile devices and process the received data to consolidate the data. The modular server unit may transmit the consolidated data to each of the group's mobile devices.

  • Publication number: 20120202485
Abstract: The present solution is directed to seamlessly communicating among mobile devices comprising a private mobile radio module. Multiple mobile devices establish a group. Each mobile device comprises a cellular communications module and a private mobile radio module to communicate with other mobile devices in the group using private radio communications. A roaming manager of each of the mobile devices determines that the mobile device is no longer in communication via the private mobile radio module and responsive to the roaming manager, the private mobile radio module is deactivated and the cellular communications module is activated. Each of the plurality of mobile devices of the group establishes a connection with the server using their cellular communications module, the server providing audio communications for the group.

  • Publication number: 20070058669
Abstract: An application unit and a modem unit for mobile communication are provided. The application unit comprises at least one application that exchanges data traffic with at least one protocol stack, wherein said at least one protocol stack transfers data between at least one of the applications and at least one physical interface. The modem unit comprises a broadcast facility for setting up a wireless connection, and at least one transmission protocol stack for transferring data traffic between the at least one physical interface and the broadcast facility. The modem unit collects flow control information about the status of the wireless connection. The flow control information are packed into an IP packet which is sent via the physical interface to the application unit. The application unit uses the received flow control information to optimize the quality of service.

  • Publication number: 20050169237
Abstract: From an abstract perspective, the invention relates to 2 components. One component is arranged on a mobile terminal, information corresponding to the GPRS standard being embedded in IP packets in order to be transmitted to the second inventive component via an IP tunnel. The second component represents an IP serving GPRS support node (IP-SGSN) in the IP network, which receives the packets from the tunnel and unpacks the packets so as to subsequently send them on to another GSN, for example. The additional GSN is responsible for other mobile terminals or makes it possible to establish a connection to the internet (GGSN). The second component consequently has the form of a conventional SGSN towards the outside for additional GSN while being considered as the end of a tunnel in the direction of the mobile terminal.

  • Publication number: 20040185786
Abstract: A mobile device and method for predictive computing of variable mobile link parameters per session and state in a future time interval within Radio Access Networks (RAN). The system narrows its prediction errors as time progresses. An ideal control value is also estimated, so that mobile QoS applications can determine their intervention point while coexisting with link layer resource management mechanisms. The system is provided with certain measurement elements from the RAN. With the information contained in these elements, the system estimates the Received Signal Strength (RSSI), Received Wideband Power (RSCP), Signal Interference Ratio (SIR), Bit Error Rate (BER), the transmission delay per frame (delay), the variation between delay measurements throughout a certain number of measurement time frames and the mean bit throughput rate (Chip Rate) for a future time interval. The system also calculates the optimal power control (gain) for a defined value target of a given link parameter.
