Abstract: One or more embodiments of a process for provisioning a headless WiFi device are disclosed, and systems, methods and devices for the same. The process of provisioning a headless WiFi device includes establishing a first communication link between the headless WiFi device and a provisioning WiFi device, the provisioning WiFi device including a physical user interface. The process also includes transmitting a provisioning data from the provisioning WiFi device to the headless WiFi device, via the first communication link. The process further includes transmitting, by the headless WiFi device on a channel corresponding to a channel identifier included with the provisioning data, a connection request for request to a WiFi router access point corresponding to a service set identifier (SSID) included with the provisioning data. Additionally, the process includes establishing a second communication link between the headless WiFi device and the WiFi router access point.

Abstract: One or more examples relate to detecting external network connectivity at a Wi-Fi router. A disclosed Wi-Fi router may include a Wi-Fi controller and a connectivity circuit. The connectivity circuit may learn a connectivity state of an external network connection of the Wi-Fi router. The connectivity circuit may provide connectivity state information to the Wi-Fi controller. The connectivity state information may include information about the learned connectivity state of the external network connection of the Wi-Fi router.

Abstract: A feedback mechanism about a state of a transmission of a packet over a wireless medium is disclosed. In one or more examples, a wireless stack determines a state of a transmission of wireless packets that correspond to the network packet and infers a state of transmission of the network packet based on such a determination. The wireless stack informs a network stack about the state of transmission of the network packet.

Abstract: One or more examples of systems, methods and devices are disclosed for provisioning a headless WiFi device. A method may include: inferring a channel identifier of a desired WiFi router access point, establishing a communication link with a provisioning WiFi device utilizing the channel identifier, and establishing a communication link with the WiFi router access point utilizing a channel identifier provided by the provisioning WiFi device.

Abstract: One or more examples relate to utilizing different WiFi passwords to secure communication links of a WiFi network defined by a single service set identifier (SSID). In one or more examples, a method performed at a WiFi router establishing differently secured communication links may include: receiving, from a first WiFi device, a request to connect to a WiFi network; receiving, from the first WiFi device, a first message associated with performing a protocol for establishing a secure communication link with the WiFi device, the message including data derived from a first WiFi password configured at the first WiFi device; and attempting to learn the first WiFi password configured at the first WiFi device utilizing the data and at least one of a plurality of preconfigured WiFi passwords.

Abstract: The present invention describes a method and apparatus to change the QoS automatically to minimize the initial delay in multimedia streaming. Additional QoS parameters may be used to enable the automatic selection of initial data rate and transition to steady state date rate. The method enhances the user experience with minimum processing overhead.
