  • Patent number: 11302090
Abstract: A first set of dimensions can be derived corresponding to a real-world space and a second set of dimensions can be derived corresponding to a first physical item in the real-world. Further included is deriving a virtual representation of the real-world space from the first set of dimensions in a virtual environment and deriving a virtual representation of the first physical item from the second set of dimensions in the virtual environment. The virtual representation of the real-world space is represented as a hollow space, and the virtual representation of the first physical item is represented as a solid item that is user-manipulatable within the virtual environment and the virtual representation of the real-world space.

  • Patent number: 10017121
Abstract: A method for adjusting an angular position of a vehicle based on the position and gaze direction of the eye (or eyes) of a driver of the vehicle, and where the driver's line-of-sight intersects the mirror. A camera images the driver's eyes and determines and tracks the position, gaze direction, and any changes therein. An electronic controller determines the driver's line-of-sight and adjusting an orientation of the mirror of the vehicle in response to the movement of the driver's eye, to adjust the driver's field-of-view through the mirror. A point of intersection between the line-of-sight and a reference position on the mirror is determined, and an offset direction and/or distance between a datum location on the mirror and the point of intersection may be used to determine the mirror adjustments.

  • Publication number: 20160368509
Abstract: A method for determining a suitable position of an adjustable component of a vehicle is provided. A 3D image of an occupant of the vehicle is captured by a 3D camera. A controller receives images from the camera and determines a first morphological characteristic of the occupant based on the 3D image, determines a second morphological characteristic of the occupant by referring to data relating the first morphological characteristic to a prediction of the second morphological characteristic, generates a 3D representation of the occupant based on the first and second morphological characteristics, and determines the suitable position of the component of the vehicle according to the 3D representation.

  • Publication number: 20160358474
Abstract: A method for determining if a vehicle will fit into a parking space with one or more doors of the vehicle open begins with capturing an image of the space. A simulated three-dimensional representation of the space is created from the image, the dimensions of the space are determined using the three-dimensional representation. The dimensions of the space are then compared to the dimensions of the vehicle with one or more doors of the vehicle open, and an indication is provided to a user if one or more of the vehicle dimensions are greater or smaller than the space.
