  • Patent number: 8733700
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for installing an inertial reference unit in an aircraft, in which: a reference unit support (1) is fixed to a structural element of the aircraft; support installation angles—in heading, roll and pitch—representative of angular errors of positioning of the reference unit support relative to an aircraft coordinate system are determined, this determination being based on the measurement of coordinates of points of a previously defined reference coordinate system and of characteristic points of the reference unit support; the said support installation angles are recorded in memory means, for the purposes of subsequent correction of data measured by the inertial reference unit. Preferably the reference coordinate system used is defined by means of targets formed on the structure of a segment of the aircraft for the purposes of joining this segment with an adjacent segment.

  • Patent number: 8552888
Abstract: A device calculates a first air speed representing an estimated air speed during flight using measurements of static pressure and total pressure onboard the aircraft. The device includes a storage device for storing in memory, in case of detection of a ground taxiing of the aircraft, the most recently determined value of static pressure corrected from induced aerodynamic effects. As a result, a second air speed representing the estimated air speed during the ground taxiing may be calculated by implementing a correction and using the most recently determined value of static pressure when the ground taxiing of the aircraft is detected. A method for automatically estimating an air speed of an aircraft is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20110264308
Abstract: The device (1) comprises means for registering, in case of detection of a ground taxiing of the aircraft, the last value of static pressure corrected from induced aerodynamic effects.

  • Patent number: 7974812
Abstract: A method for determining the total temperature of the air stream surrounding an aircraft, including the following operations; measuring a parameter of static temperature, measuring a parameter of total temperature, determining a value of speed of the air stream, determining a total temperature computed from the parameters of measured static temperature and measured total temperature as a function of the speed of the air stream.

  • Patent number: 7175344
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the protection of a probe joined to a wall of an aircraft. Detachable means for fastening to the wall of the protection device are sensitive to a modification of a temperature of the probe. For example, the fastening means are made of a shape memory material. A rise in temperature enables a deformation of the fastener means and a separation of the device from the wall. It is also possible to make the fastener means out of magnetostrictive or polarizable material in order to separate the protection device when the fastener means are subjected to a magnetic field. Thus, the fastener means may comprise a polarizable pin that withdraws from a housing made on a through-hole unit when it is subjected to the magnetic field generated by an electromagnet.
