  • Publication number: 20220220285
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a suspension of cellulose nanofibrils from an aqueous suspension of cellulose fibres is disclosed including the following steps: chemical treatment, in a reactor, of the aqueous suspension of cellulose fibres by at least one functionalising agent, the chemical treatment being configured to functionalise the cellulose fibres at a modification rate that is higher, indeed strictly higher, than 1.0 mmol/g, and mechanical treatment, in a twin-screw extruder, of the aqueous suspension of functionalised cellulose fibres, each screw of the extruder comprising at least two fibrillation segments. In accordance with at least one embodiment, this method makes it possible to produce a suspension of cellulose nanofibrils of good quality, with a high dry matter content, and while consuming less energy than the methods of the prior art.

  • Patent number: 10618015
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a laminated material (S) comprising a fibrillated cellulose layer, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: (a) depositing a suspension (1) of fibrillated cellulose on a filtration membrane (2) and draining the suspension through that membrane so as to form a wet layer of fibrillated cellulose (A) having a dryness, that is to say a ratio between the mass of dry matter and the total mass of the fibrillated cellulose layer, of between 5% and 18%; (b) transferring the wet layer (A) under pressure to an at least partially hydrophilic surface of a substrate (B), so as to form the laminated material (S); (c) drying the laminated material. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the process.

  • Patent number: 9834886
Abstract: A method for producing mechanical paper pulp comprises: impregnating unprocessed wood, whereby unprocessed wood is exposed to an impregnating composition comprising at least a laccase enzyme and a formula mediator (I), wherein R1 and R2 are identical or different groups, chosen from among a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon chain, linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, comprising 1 to 14 carbon atoms, wherein each hydrocarbon chain can be replaced by one or more functional groups chosen from among —OH, —SO3, benzyl, amino, mercapto, keto or carboxyl, wherein R1 and R2 in combination can form a cyclical structure, to achieve impregnation of the wood; and mechanically refining the impregnated wood, such that a mechanical paper pulp is obtained. The disclosure also relates to an impregnating composition used in this method and to the use thereof in a method for producing mechanical paper pulp, as well as to a method for producing paper.
