Abstract: A process for determining the number of available transport seats in a computerized reservation system, which includes elements for storing data on services that provide transportation between two locations and their current reservation status, broken down by class of service, a process in which, at a predefined level of expected revenue, a number of seats available locally for a given class of service of a transport service is determined. The following process are carried out: selection of at least one other class of service of a transport service; determination of the number of seats available locally for the class of service of the transport service, at the predefined level of expected revenue; determination of an overall number of seats available for the class of service of the transport service at the predefined level of expected revenue as a function of the different numbers of seats available locally.

Abstract: In a method of managing an inventory of service resources, a plurality of criteria characterize service resources. The inventory of service resources is divided, based on the criteria, into plural elements, each comprising an exclusive subset of the service resources sharing common criteria. A plurality of groups is also created. Groups aggregate those of the elements that have at least one common criterion value. Groups and elements are offered for sale by the service provider. Elements belong in general to several groups. Service resources are, e.g., travel service or leisure resources such as airplane seats and hotel rooms. Customers or travel agents book in an element or in a group. The invention allows maximizing inventory availability while bookings are done by customers, on the basis of a specific request (in an element) or a more indefinite request (in a group). A specific inventory item is attributed later, i.e., at check-in.

Abstract: A customer-centric travel information management system includes one user record dedicated to each travel user, a user information storage area configured to store information release authorizations, personal request information, information input into the user information storage area for transmission to the user, and a user identification; a user interface; a customer profiles database; and plural travel segment records, each travel segment record including travel segment data generated by a specific travel provider, a trigger generating provider notice information upon changes in the travel segment data, and a user notification information section generating user notification information upon changes in the travel segment data by the specific travel provider.

Abstract: A budget based request system includes a travel segments inventory operatively connected to a fare and yield driven travel services optimizer, each travel segment having a yield criteria indicating a degree of difficulty in selling the travel segment. The optimizer responds to a trip search request by determining a travel segments solution set based on the yield criteria of each travel segment, where the solution set is made of travel segments satisfying the travel segments selection criteria.
