Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for configuring audiovisual equipment. An image captured by an imaging sensor of a camera may comprise an encoded pattern that includes information that can unlock a feature or function of a camera or other audiovisual equipment the information is extracted from the encoded pattern using an image processor of the camera, or communicatively coupled to the camera. The information may comprise encrypted information which may be decrypted using a unique identifier of the camera. The information may be transmitted to downstream audiovisual equipment and may be used to unlock features and functions of other devices. The other devices may include another camera.
