  • Publication number: 20230275799
Abstract: A method performed by a node in a telecommunications network for managing faults includes obtaining predictions of faults in the telecommunications network and time intervals in which the faults are predicted to occur. The method then includes determining possible actions that could be performed to address the predicted faults and associated resource usages to perform the possible actions, and selecting actions to perform, from the possible actions, in order to address the predicted faults, based on the predicted time intervals and the determined resource usages.

  • Patent number: 11705754
Abstract: Methods and devices optimize backup power management for network devices connected to backup power sources including two different batteries. Machine learning techniques are used to predict upcoming power outages affecting the network device based on power-related historic information and current conditions. A backup-power operation plan prescribing usage of the backup power sources during the predicted power outages is then generated. The backup-power operation plan schedules a battery among the backup power devices to be used at least twice without being recharged.

  • Publication number: 20220321424
Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose, e.g., a method performed by a control network node in a communications network for handling machine learning (ML) models in the communications network. The control network node determines whether or not to transmit to a network node in the communications network a ML model based on a signature and/or a loss value of the network node, wherein the signature and/or the loss value is related to ML modelling. In case where it is determined to transmit, the control network node transmits the ML model to the network node.

  • Publication number: 20210392607
Abstract: A method by a first wireless device, for determining a status of a first cell is described herein. The first wireless device operates in a communications network. The first wireless device sends a request to a plurality of second wireless devices operating in the communications network. The plurality of second wireless devices is within radio range. The request inquires whether or not the first cell is in sleeping state. The first wireless device receives, in response to the sent request, one or more responses from the plurality of second wireless devices. The first wireless device determines whether or not the first cell is in sleeping state, based on the received responses. The methods by a network node and another wireless device receiving an indication indicating a result of the determination are also described.

  • Publication number: 20200036462
Abstract: A method in a device for predicting the number of views of broadcast media on a broadcast channel at a future instance in time n+k. The method comprises receiving past values representing the actual number of views of the broadcast media at particular instances in time, and defining a time window previous to the current time n. The past values received during the time window are analysed to determine if the time window is corrupt. The time window is utilised to predict the number of views of the broadcast channel at the future instance in time, n+k, depending on whether the time window is corrupt.

  • Patent number: 9143810
Abstract: A communication device and method provide selective control of a level of buffering of at least one data stream. The communication device includes a jitter buffer (202), a jitter buffer control unit (204) and a user interface (206). An instruction received via an input to a user interface (206) indicates a jitter buffer strategy (510), such as enabling a jitter buffer or setting a size of a jitter buffer, based on the user input. The control unit (204) sets the buffer strategy based in the instruction, and a data stream transmitted via a packet-switched network is received (530) and buffered for play out based on the buffer strategy (540).

  • Patent number: 8665737
Abstract: An apparatus (300) and method (400) provides an adaptive end-to-end (E2E) delay threshold (DT) for one-way transmission of information blocks in an information stream of a conversation. Information streams of the conversation are monitored (410), and the E2E DT duration is determined based on detected occurrences of one or more interactive properties 5 associated with the information streams of the conversation (412). Using the adaptive E2E DT duration value, a determination is made as to whether to perform at least one Quality of Service (QoS) function (416).

  • Publication number: 20110013085
Abstract: In a method and arrangement for determining time skew for a media sequence being conveyed from a sending party to a receiving party over a transmission path, first and second artificial media sequences (310; 306) are generated and added to individual captured media sequences (308; 304), resulting in a first and a second modified media sequence (308/310; 304/306), before being conveyed. At the receiving party, the modified media sequences (308?/310?; 304?306?) are presented and registered, and the artificial media sequences (310?; 306?) are extracted. The time difference between the extracted artificial media sequences (306?; 310?) is calculated as the time skew. Performing time skew determination by adding artificial media sequences to captured media sequences, extracting the artificial media sequences at the receiving party and comparing them can achieve an accurate determination including delays in the capturing and presentation devices.
