  • Patent number: 11877375
Abstract: An apparatus includes a plurality of induction coils that are magnetically coupled to one another, a plurality of heat stations, each respectively coupled to one of the induction coils, a power source, and a power source connected to at least one of the heat stations via at least one power transfer component. When electrical power is applied from the power source to at least one of the heat stations, a magnetic field is induced in the plurality of induction coils via the at least one of the heat stations that is connected to the power source.

  • Patent number: 7617658
Abstract: A sealing device producing sealed packages filled with pourable food product from sheet packaging material comprises a supporting frame, a forming mechanism movable with respect to the frame along a path to fold the sheet packaging material, a sealing arrangement carried by the forming mechanism to seal the sheet packaging material and form the packages, and an electromagnetic power device supplying electric energy to the sealing arrangement. The power device comprises at least one primary winding fixed to the frame and connectable to an electric energy source, and a secondary winding movable along the path, powering the sealing arrangement, and receiving electric energy by electromagnetic induction from the primary winding as the secondary winding travels past the primary winding. When interconnected by electromagnetic induction, the primary and secondary windings are so arranged as to have respective adjacent portions interjacent in a first direction crosswise to the forming mechanism movement path.

  • Publication number: 20080308550
Abstract: A magnetic flux guide for improvement of continuous induction tube welding process is provided having a magnetic body made from one or several plates of soft magnetic composite (magnetodielectric material) that has permeability of at least 15, saturation flux density greater than about 0.2 T and service temperature of at least 180° C. The device also comprises internal channels for water or gas cooling or one or two water-cooled plates, which are located in the middle of the magnetic body, on one side or both sides of the body. The device preferably has a fixture for its positioning above the edges of the welding tube or profile. The device may be incorporated into the welding coil, which provides to the device mechanical support and cooling.

  • Patent number: 6166360
Abstract: This invention provides methods for rapidly heating a metal part of varying thickness. In general, the invention provides methods comprising heating the thicker section(s) of the part by induction heating and the thinner section(s) by resistance heating. Induction and resistance heating both quickly heat metals and because each is easily controlled individually, the part can be uniformly heated for hardening and tempering.
