The metering system comprising a prepaid metering device, a mobile device, and a head-end system. The mobile device includes a mobile application configured to communicate with the meter and the head-end system to monitor, diagnose, register, and add credit to the prepaid metering device. The mobile application provides an automated solution for managing prepaid metering devices.

Abstract: A system for monitoring an comprises a hive monitor configured for measuring and transmitting data on hive parameters, a data collector communicating with the hive monitor for logging measurement data received from the hive monitor, the data collector configured for transmitting the logged data, and a central database repository communicating with the data collector for storing the logged data received from the data collector. The hive monitor comprises a controller, a power source for powering the controller, a load cell for measuring the weight of the hive, means for measuring parameters of the hive, and means for communicating measured data.

Abstract: The phase shift in an electronic energy meter is compensated for by obtaining temperature and frequency readings in the meter and using these readings in a digital signal processor (DSP) residing within the electronic energy meter. The frequency and temperature compensation is performed to each phase calibration and the result is stored in the DSP. To reduce the possible influence of noise in the system, the compensated DSP values are filtered to provide a smoothing of the data.
