  • Patent number: 4157376
Abstract: A process for the removal of hydrogen fluoride and/or hydrogen chloride from gases comprising passing the gas to be purified through anion-exchange sorbent composed of a textured chemisorption fiber based on carbo-chain polymers with vinylpyridine groups or aliphatic amino groups. On exhaustion the sorbent is regenerated with water. The process of the present invention makes it possible to purify gases substantially completely irrespective of the initial concentrations of impurities in the gas being treated and ensures practically unlimited number of sorption-regeneration cycles with the same sorbent.
