  • Patent number: 9335464
Abstract: An edge-lit light fixture includes a first edge-lit light guide panel that has a first light guide. The edge-lit light fixture also includes a second edge-lit light guide panel that has a second light guide. The edge-lit light fixture further includes a center spine that has a protrusion. The first edge-lit light guide panel and the second edge-lit light guide panel are positioned on opposite sides of the protrusion. The protrusion separates a narrow edge of the first light guide from a narrow edge of the second light guide. A portion of the protrusion is positioned below the first light guide and the second light guide.

  • Patent number: 8764220
Abstract: A linear light emitting diode (“LED”) light fixture includes LED modules that interface with one another to provide a substantially continuous array of LED's. This continuous array allows for substantially uniform light output from the LED light fixture. The LED modules can interface with one another via one or more connectors, which allow two or more LED modules to be electrically and mechanically coupled together. The connectors may be disposed beneath the LED's so that the connectors are not visible when the LED modules are coupled together. The connectors may be disposed along opposite ends of the modules to allow for end-to-end configurations of the modules and/or along side ends of the modules to allow for angled or curved configurations of the modules. The LED modules can be powered via one or more wires, magnets, or clips, which are coupled to a power source.

  • Patent number: 8523383
Abstract: A retrofit kit assembly for a recessed lighting fixture and methods for manufacturing and installing the same are described herein. The retrofit kit includes at least two mounting brackets, which can each include at least one lamp socket. The kit also includes at least one ballast, which may be pre-wired to the sockets. Each ballast may include a temporary adhesive on a mounting side thereof, for use during the installation process. For example, the installer may provisionally mount the ballast to an interior surface of an existing housing of the fixture and then permanently mount the ballast using one or more fasteners. The mounting brackets and ballast of the kit may include captive hardware which is held in place in the aperture for the fastener prior to fastening the particular object to the recessed housing, which reduces risk of dropping or losing fasteners during installation.
