    Abstract: The present invention concerns compositions and methods involving mammalian polymerase kappa, an enzyme with limited fidelity and moderate processivity. Methods of modulating polymerase kappa activity, such as inhibiting or reducing its activity, as a means of effecting a cancer treatment or preventative agent are provided, both by itself and in combination with other anti-cancer therapies.
