  • Patent number: 6118037
Abstract: Process for the removal of contaminant compounds containing one or more heteroatoms of sulfur, nitrogen and/or oxygen from hydrocarbon streams characterized in that it comprises:an adsorption step in which said compounds are adsorbed by means of an adsorber essentially consisting of silica gel, possibly modified with one or more metals selected from the elements of groups IVb, Vb, VIb, VIII, Ib, IIb or from tin, lead or bismuth, carried out at a temperature of between 0.degree. and 150.degree. C. and at a pressure of between 1 and 20 atm;an optional washing step with polar solvents or hydrocarbons;and a regeneration step for removing the substances adsorbed by means of thermal treatment in a flow of inert gas carried out at a temperature of between 100.degree. and 200.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 6111162
Abstract: Process for selectively removing oxygenated contaminants from streams prevalently containing hydrocarbons with from 3 to 8 carbon atoms characterized in that it comprises an adsorption step wherein said contaminants are adsorbed by an adsorbent essentially consisting of silica gel at a temperature of between 0 and 150.degree. C. and a pressure of between 1 and 20 atms and a regeneration step for removing the adsorbed substances by thermal treatment in a stream of insert gas carried out at a temperature of between 100 and 200.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5214018
Abstract: A catalyst for producing tertiary olefins from alkyl-tert-alkylethers is described, consisting of silica modified by adding alumina in a quantity of between 0.3 and 1% by weight with respect to the silica, and is prepared by a method consisting essentially of impregnating a silica with a solution of aluminium salts, followed by drying and calcining, the material then being subjected to purification treatment with aqueous acid solutions or with aqueous solutions which release acidity by thermal decomposition, followed by washing, a second drying and a second calcining.
