Abstract: A database replication system comprises a plurality of replica data nodes and a master data node. The master data node is configured with an acknowledgement requirement that comprises an acknowledgement threshold that is less than a total number of data nodes in a plurality of data nodes. The master data node is configured to send, to the plurality of replica data nodes, a transaction log record that includes an update to data in the master database that has not been committed to the master database, receive acknowledgements of the transaction log records and based on a determination that the received acknowledgements of the transaction log record meet the acknowledgement requirement, set the transaction log record as a master node last acknowledged transaction log record in a master node transaction log. The last acknowledged transaction log record can be used to control recovery.

Abstract: In general, embodiments of the technology relates to a method for attaching a detachable library. The method includes obtaining a detachable library, wherein the detachable library comprises a plurality of data files and each of the data files comprises a library scope identifier (ID), and where the library scope IDs are unique within the detachable library and reattaching the detachable library to a database. The method further includes assigning a node scope ID to each of the data files in the detachable library, where the node scope IDs are unique within the database, creating a mapping index using the node scope IDs and the library scope IDs, and processing a request from a client using the mapping index, where the request includes a library scope ID.

Abstract: In general the technology includes obtaining a detachable library, where the detachable library includes data files each of which are associated with a library scope identifier (ID). The technology further includes reattaching the detachable library to a node server, assigning a node scope ID and a cluster scope ID to each of the data files in the detachable library, creating a mapping index using the node scope IDs, the cluster scope IDs, and the library scope IDs, where each of mapping index entry in the mapping index is associated with a type, and processing a request from a client using the mapping index, wherein the request includes a cluster scope ID.

Abstract: In general, embodiments of the technology relate to method for resolving a library path in a distributed system. The method includes receiving a path resolution request, issuing a first request to a first node server to obtain a first library name index (LNI) associated with a first portion of the library path, obtaining the first LNI, and generating, based on the first LNI, a second request to a second node server of the plurality of node servers, where the second request is associated with a second portion of the library path. The method further includes after not receiving a second response to the second request: issuing a request message to a set of node servers, receiving, from one of the node servers, a third response to the request message, and resolving the entire library path using, at least in part, the third response.
