  • Publication number: 20230041162
Abstract: The present invention provides metallic nanocluster (NC)—antibody (Ab) conjugate, wherein the NC has an average size lower than 3 nm and the conjugate: (a) comprises one single NC, (b) the antibody maintains the binding ability; and (c) has a catalytic activity selected from peroxidase-like and photocatalytic activity. The invention also provides a process for the preparation of the conjugate as well as compositions, kits and uses in therapy and diagnostics. Advantageously, the conjugate of the invention shows improved catalytic activity, providing a remarkable improved immunoassay's sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 9334526
Abstract: The present invention disclosed the cloning and the purification of a mutant of prethrombin-2, which contains a thrombin cleavage site instead of a factor Xa cleavage site. The stable mutant prethrombin-2 is able to convert itself autocatalytically into active ?-thrombin in the absence of ecarin or factor Xa. The new concept of signal amplification using self-replicating enzymes can be applied to improve sensitivity of ?-thrombin assays and also for the preparation of different enzymes.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 10, 2016
Assignee: ASOCIACION CENTRO DE INVESTIGACION COOPERATIVA EN BIOMATERIALES-CIC

  • Patent number: 8480979
Abstract: An enhancement water system to produce a serving of enhanced filtered water is described. The present system describes a faucet mount water enhancement system that includes a housing with an inlet and an outlet, a source of water at the inlet, and a filter component within the housing. Source water is converted into treated water as it flows through the filter component under the influence of pressure. The housing further includes an outlet for outflow of treated water. A first enhancement module is disposed outside the housing adjacent the outlet and the first enhancement module is effective to dispense a desired amount of a first enhancement for use in combining with treated water dispensed from the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20130040329
Abstract: Methods for the detection/quantification of the enzymatic activity of hydrolases in a sample, wherein the hydrolase catalyses a hydrolysis reaction of a substrate which yields either H2S or a thiol-containing organic compound that produces a decomposition reaction which generates H2S, and methods for the detection/quantification of their substrates in a sample, as well as a method for the preparation of fluorescent CdS quantum dots, the preparation method, comprising first carrying out a enzymatic reaction catalysed by the hydrolase wherein the hydrolase catalyses the hydrolysis reaction of a substrate which yields either H2S or a thiol-containing organic compound that produces a decomposition reaction which generates H2S, and then reacting the resulting H2S with a salt of Cd+2, thereby fluorescent CdS quantum dots are obtained.

  • Patent number: 8309030
Abstract: An enhancement control system that can be used as part of an enhanced water system to produce enhanced filtered water is described. The enhancement control system includes at least one enhancement delivery element that can dispense an enhancement(s) into filtered water in response to an enhancement delivery instruction(s). The enhancement control system can also include an input element that can enable transmittal of the enhancement delivery instruction(s) from a user to the enhancement delivery element(s). The control system can also include a memory element that can store information about the user and the user's preferences and information about the enhanced water system. The control system can also include a communication element that can provide information from the enhanced water system to the user.
