  • Patent number: 8806700
Abstract: A wiper blade connector releasably secures a wiper blade to a wiper arm, thereby forming a windshield wiper blade assembly. The wiper blade connector comprises an elongate body member having opposite facing side walls, a front end, and a rear end. The opposite facing sidewalls include means for receiving and releasably securing to the mounting base on a wiper blade. At the front end of the elongate body member, a first tongue receiving opening is sized to receive the corresponding front tongue of a wiper arm. At the rear end of the elongate body member, a second tongue receiving opening is sized to receive the corresponding rear tongue of a wiper arm. A locking mechanism, such as a partially rotatable door member, releasably locks the wiper blade member to the wiper arm.

  • Patent number: 6640380
Abstract: A connector for connecting a wiper blade assembly to a wiper arm. The connector includes first and second side walls spaced from one another to define a channel therebetween as well as a central bridge and rail interconnecting the first and second side walls. The central bridge and side walls define a pin passage and a rivet passage, each extending transverse to the channel. The rail is vertically spaced from the central bridge to define a tail space between the bridge and the rail. The forwardmost end of the rail is positioned rearward of the pin and rivet passages.

  • Publication number: 20020192017
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a shim for a wiper arm in a windshield wiper blade assembly. The shim includes a base having a deck and an arcuate extension extending from the deck. The base defines a hook-shaped upper bearing surface and a hook-shaped lower bearing surface. The shim also includes first and second side walls as well as a pair of opposed tabs. The first and second side walls extend from the base and are spaced from one another to define a channel. The opposed tabs extend from the side walls into the channel for coupling the shim to the wiper arm. The present invention is also directed to a wiper arm assembly with a hook-shaped wiper arm and a shim such as that described above.
