Abstract: A stick type drumstick is disclosed which includes a plurality of elongated, substantially straight wooden rods disposed to form a bundle having two ends and a longitudinal axis and at least a first retainer is provided for securing the bundle tightly together in a band-like manner for a relatively short longitudinal span at a location spaced from but closer to the playing end thereof. A second retainer is provided for securing the bundle together at the handle end and an overlay sleeve may be provided on top of the retainer.
