    Abstract: A combined heat-producing and heat-exchanging system in which sodium or a mixture of lithium and sodium and/or potassium is reacted in a reaction vessel with fluorine and/or chlorine or gaseous compounds of these halogens, while the sodium and/or potassium vapour formed as a result of the produced heat is passed on to the heat exchanger of a heat-consuming device and the condensate is led back to the reaction vessel.
