  • Publication number: 20250231366
Abstract: A buffer tube clencher (47) elongates a buffer tube (43) in a cable manufacturing machine (41) to reduce excess fiber length (EFL). The clencher (47) includes first (49,57) and second (69,73) sets of wheels with first and second gaps (63) therebetween to guide the buffer tube (43). At least one wheel of the first set of wheels (49,57) and of the second set of wheels (69,73) is driven to cause the buffer tube (43) to elongate, and at least one wheel of the first set of wheels (49,57) and of the second set of wheels (69,73) is biased and able to move away from the other wheel against a biasing force to accommodate an imperfection in the outer surface of the buffer tube (43), such that the buffer tube (43) remains under an elongation force by at least one driven wheel even if slippage occurs as the imperfection passes by the other driven wheel of the first and second sets of wheels.

  • Publication number: 20240399352
Abstract: The synthesis, structure, and reactivity of a family of iridium-based molecular cluster complexes, including neutron and X-ray single-crystal diffraction measurements, are provided. It is found that one complex, which includes an Ir3H6(?3—H) trinuclear core, exhibits reactivity for reversible CO2 hydrogenation via hydride transfer. This reactivity is unlike previous reports of one known Ir3H6(?3—H) complex, which is inert.

  • Publication number: 20240297942
Abstract: An image sensor reads an image from a document sheet at a reading position. Two document sheet sensors are capable of detecting the document sheet at two positions along boundaries of a reference pass-through area of the document sheet at a detection position more on an upstream side of a conveying direction than the reading position. Two sets of independent roller pairs are arranged with an interval provided therebetween in a width direction at positions between the detection position and the reading position, and rotation speeds thereof can be changed independently. A control portion changes, when the document sheet is detected by one of the two document sheet sensors, a speed ratio of the two sets of independent roller pairs from a reference ratio to a correction ratio during an adjustment period that lasts until the document sheet is no longer detected by both of the two document sheet sensors.

  • Patent number: 12020356
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method includes receiving an image of produce and an image of marking. The image of produce has a set of pixels, each associated with a position and a color value. The method further includes generating a grayscale image from the image of produce. The method further includes cropping out a portion from the grayscale image. The method further includes locating a marking position pixel on the image of produce by: (a) producing a list of pixels that are part of the cropped portion, (b) selecting, from the list of pixels, a subset of pixels having grayscale pixel values above a threshold, and (c) randomly selecting the marking position pixel from the subset of pixels. The method further includes overlaying the image of marking on the image of produce by coinciding a pixel of the image of marking with the marker position pixel.

The threaded fastener may include a flange including mutually spaced holes located circumferentially within an outer periphery of the flange. The locking mechanism may include a spring and a dowel member. The locking mechanism may be positioned within a hole of the flange and may be configured to retain the threaded fastener in a fixed position relative to one component. Methods include using a depressor ring including teeth corresponding to the holes of the flange to depress the locking mechanism into the cavity while tightening the threaded fastener.
