  • Patent number: 10933208
Abstract: A hollow extension tube or extension assembly aids in increasing the quantity of any inhaled or aerosolized substance delivered to a patient's lungs from an inhaler or source. The length of the extension tube reduces the velocity and increases the temperature of the aerosolized substance, easing inhalation. The interior surface of the hollow extension tube has anti-static properties which reduces the amount of aerosolized substance trapped by the interior surface of the hollow extension tube. The interior surface of the extension tube may be formed of cardboard.

  • Patent number: 10912030
Abstract: Selectively controlling transmit power from a radio access network (RAN) cell to user equipment (UE) in closed-loop power control for uplink control channel based on variation in measured uplink signal quality. To avoid the RAN cell continuously sending transmit power control messages that may not be effective in further adjusting transmit power of the UE, the RAN cell selectively controls transmit power of the UE based on effectiveness in such transmit power control changing uplink channel signal quality. The determined effectiveness of the transmit power control can be used by the RAN cell to determine when the next transmit power control message should be sent to the UE. The RAN cell can be configured to indirectly measure the uplink channel power by reviewing the received uplink channel quality in a report communicated from the UE to the RAN cell.

  • Patent number: 10911035
Abstract: A fixed-width pulse generator includes a metastability detector circuit, a delay signal generator, and a combinational logic circuit. The metastability detector circuit is configured to receive a trigger signal and generate state detection signals. The delay signal generator is configured to receive the state detection signals and the trigger signal, and delay the trigger signal by two different delay values to generate two different delayed signals. One of the delay values is based on the state detection signals. The combinational logic circuit is configured to receive the two delayed signals and an error signal, and generate a fixed-width pulse that remains constant over process, voltage, and temperature variations.

  • Publication number: 20210029813
Abstract: Applications of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) based atmospheric pressure plasma jets are often limited by the relatively small area of treatment due to their 1D configuration. This system generates 2D plasma jets permitting fast treatment of larger targets. DBD evolution starts with formation of transient anode glow, and continues with development of cathode-directed streamers. The anode glow can propagate as an ionization wave along the dielectric surface through and outside of the discharge gap. Plasma propagation is not limited to 1D geometry such as tubes, and can be organized in a form of a rectangular plasma jet, or other 2D or 3D shapes. Also described are a method for generating 2D plasma jets and use of the 2D plasma jets for cancer therapy.

  • Publication number: 20210020277
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for implement a discrepancy detection mechanism for detecting discrepancies between clinical notes and administrative records. Clinical concepts are extracted from the clinical notes and the administrative records in a patient's electronic medical records (EMRs). The extracted clinical concepts are filtered based on semantic type information to identify concepts that reference diseases or syndromes while also removing negated instances. Utilizing the positive mentions of diseases in clinical notes, the positive mentions of diseases or syndromes in the clinical notes are compared against each positive entry in the administrative records. A discrepancy summary is then generated for diseases or syndromes that failed to translate correctly from clinical notes to the administrative records in the patient's EMRs.
