  • Patent number: 9699817
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to preemptively searching and selecting LTE-Direct Expressions to maintain continuity in availing services via LTE-Direct and thereby support uninterrupted device-to-device (D2D) communication when a current LTE-Direct session experiences loss or degradation. For example, in various embodiments, a wireless device may establish a first D2D connection with a peer device to access a service shared at the peer device. The wireless device may further discover at least one alternate peer device sharing the service while the first D2D connection is active such that a second D2D connection with the at least one alternate peer device can be established in response to loss and/or degradation associated with the first D2D connection.

  • Patent number: 9398501
Abstract: Aspects disclosed herein relate to determining frequencies for measuring cells in reselection. A set of frequencies over which to measure cells for reselection can be prioritized, wherein one or more first frequencies in the set of frequencies correspond to frequencies of previously visited closed subscriber group (CSG) cells, multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMS) frequencies, etc. A command to deprioritize one or more second frequencies for reselection can be received, and it can be determined whether to deprioritize the one or more second frequencies in the prioritized set of frequencies based at least in part on the command. One or more cells can be measured over the prioritized set of frequencies based at least in part on respective priorities of the set of frequencies and may be evaluated for reselection.

  • Publication number: 20160127439
Abstract: Interfacing of multimedia public warning system alerts is discussed in which a user equipment (UE) receives a system information broadcast message with a multimedia alert contained therein. The multimedia alert triggers the UE to automatically initiate a multimedia broadcast application to process the alert. The multimedia alert includes broadcast system information that enables the multimedia broadcast application to automatically tune the UE to the streaming multimedia content associated with the alert. The UE may then process the streaming multimedia content on the UE.

  • Publication number: 20160116974
Abstract: Systems and methods for booting up a mobile device involve segmenting a boot sequence of the mobile device into a plurality of boot sequence segments and determining a first boot sequence segment from the plurality of boot sequence segments, battery power consumed by the first boot sequence segment exceeds a predetermined battery power threshold. In addition, systems and methods further include selecting a target boot mode from a plurality of boot modes. The target boot mode is configured to be executed when the first boot sequence segment of the boot sequence is to be executed, and each of the plurality of boot modes corresponds to at least some but not all resources of the mobile device. Furthermore, systems and methods involve executing the first boot sequence segment based on the target boot mode and executing at least one of the plurality of boot sequence segments other than the first boot sequence segment based on a normal mode. The normal mode corresponds to all resources of the mobile device.
