  • Patent number: 11035352
Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing performance in a reciprocating compressor are described. The compressor includes a cylinder, a crank shaft housing, a crank shaft, a motor, a motor housing and rod assembly. The rod assembly includes a coupling rod portion, a head portion, a cup seal, a cap and one or more valves. The rod assembly is configured to reciprocate within the cylinder so as to compress fluid within a space formed by the cylinder. The rod assembly is driven by the crank shaft. The one or more valves are configured to control air to the compressor. The one or more valves are removably coupled to the head portion, such that the one or more valves remain coupled to the head portion when the cap is detached from the coupling rod assembly.

  • Patent number: 10578086
Abstract: A connector (24) and method of connecting a compressor assembly (10) that increases the pressure of a fluid are described. The compressor assembly (10) includes cylinders (12a,b), crank shaft housings (18a,b), and a motor housing (22). The connector (24) is disposed between the cylinders (12a,b) and the crank shaft housing (18a,b) and configured to engage the cylinders (12a,b) such that vibration during operation of the compressor assembly is reduced through the placement of the connector (24) corresponding to a center of gravity of the compressor assembly (10). The connector may also be used by the compressor assembly as a heat sink, inlet, mount, filter, and/or to provide other functions that improve the operation of compressor assembly.

  • Publication number: 20190093648
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to systems and methods for a compressor assembly configured to operatively couple to motor stators having different dimensions in a reciprocating compressor. The compressor includes a cylinder, crankshaft housing, crankshaft, rod assembly, motor, and motor housing. The motor housing may operatively couple to an outer or inner surface of the crankshaft housing. The motor housing may include a pair of generally cylindrical shells, each with inner and outer sidewalls. The pair of shells may include a portion interposed there-between. The generally cylindrical shells may have different thicknesses, axial lengths, and/or radial lengths.

  • Patent number: 9422928
Abstract: A compressor assembly (10) configured to increase pressure of a fluid. The compressor assembly includes a cylinder (12a, 12b) forming a space for compressing the fluid and a piston (14a, 14b) configured to reciprocate in the cylinder to compress the fluid. The compressor assembly includes a crank shaft (72) configured to drive the piston and a crank shaft housing (18a, 18b) operatively connected to the cylinder and configured to house the crank shaft. A motor (20) is connected to the crank shaft and drives the crank shaft. The compressor assembly further includes a motor housing (22) connected to the crank shaft housing and configured to house the motor. A thermal insulator (24a, 24b) is disposed between the motor housing and the crank shaft housing to enhance thermal insulation between the motor housing and the crank shaft housing.
