  • Patent number: 12228369
Abstract: A detector for detecting the removal and/or insertion of a firearm out of and/or into a holster. The detector may transmit a message each time the firearm is removed from the holster. A recording system may receive the message and determine whether or not it will begin recording the data it captures. A detector may detect the change in a magnitude of an inductance and/or an impedance of a circuit to detect insertion and removal of the firearm into and out of the holster. A placement mode may be invoked to determine an optimal mounting location of the detector relative to the holster. The optimal mounting location may be a location of maximum sensitivity of the detector with respect to the weapon and/or a location wherein the measurements obtained via the detector exceed a threshold. The detector may provide indicia corresponding with the optimal mounting location.

  • Publication number: 20240353206
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) comprises one or more switch devices and a charge storage circuit for delivering a stimulus signal via a deployed electrode. A charge may be stored in the charge storage circuit. A first switch device of the one or more switch devices may be selectively turned on according to the charge of the charge storage circuit. The stimulus signal may be delivered via a current flow path comprising the first switch device and the deployed electrode according to the charge of the charge storage circuit.

  • Publication number: 20240237180
Abstract: A duration of a stimulus signal delivered to a target by a conducted electrical weapon may be selected in accordance with a current of the stimulus signal delivered to the target. The current may be measured by the conducted electrical weapon. The current may comprise a measured current of a pulse of the stimulus signal. The duration may be selected while the pulse is delivered to the target. The duration may be selected from a range of durations for which the stimulus signal may be applied. The range of durations may comprise a range of increasing pulse durations associated with a range of increasing charges provided by the stimulus signal in accordance with combinations of respective measured currents of a range of measured currents and respective pulse durations of the increasing pulse durations. A charge delivered by a measured current and a selected duration may increase as the measured current decreases.

  • Patent number: 11990027
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) may deploy electrodes toward a target to electrically couple to the target. The CEW may be configured to detect a connection status of at least one electrode of the deployed electrodes. A positive connection status represents a connection being established between the at least one electrode and the target. The CEW may generate an alert in accordance with the connection status. The alert may comprise one or more of an audible alert, a haptic alert, or a visual alert.
