Abstract: Example embodiments relate generally to methods, systems, and devices for searching for a map using an image a search query. In an example embodiment, a method comprises performing an image recognition process to the input image and performing a character recognition process to the input image. The method further comprises performing a search query revision process to obtain a revised search query set. The method further comprises searching, in a map database, the searching comprising selecting one or more map images from among a plurality of map images in the map database. The method further comprises returning a resultant map image when the resultant map image is determined by the comparing to be a match.
