Publication number: 20220291961Abstract: Configurations of a system and a method for optimizing an allocation of computing resources via a disaggregated architecture, are described. In one aspect, the disaggregated architecture may include a Layer 2 (L2) controller that may be configured to optimize an allocation of computing resources in a virtualized radio access network (vRAN). The disaggregated architecture in a distributed unit may disaggregate an execution of the operations of the distributed unit by the computing resources deployed therein. Further, the disaggregated architecture may provision statistical multiplexing and provision a mechanism for allocating the computing resources based on real-time conditions in the network. The disaggregated architecture may provision a mechanism that may enable dynamic swapping, allocation, scaling up, management, and maintenance of the computing resources deployed in the distributed unit (DU).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2022Publication date: September 15, 2022Inventors: Anindya Saha, Parag Balwant Naik, Sandeep Pendharkar, Venugopal Kolathur, Vasanth Shreesha

Patent number: 8938519Abstract: Devices, systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with configuring devices are described. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, from a remote device, a search input for an adjustment parameter. The method searches for the adjustment parameter in a television device based, at least in part, on the search input, wherein the adjustment parameter is a setting in the television device that controls how content is displayed. After the adjustment parameter is found, the adjustment parameter is returned to the remote device, which is caused to display the adjustment parameter. An input parameter value for changing the adjustment parameter is received from the remote device. The television device is reconfigured by locally changing the adjustment parameter based at least in part on the input parameter value, wherein a content is displayed on the television device based on at least the changed adjustment parameter.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2013Date of Patent: January 20, 2015Assignee: Marvell International Ltd.Inventors: Vasanth Shreesha, Sarma V. Patent number: 8433778Abstract: Devices, systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with configuring devices are described. One example apparatus is configured with an interface logic and a control logic. The interface logic is to detect a remote device. When a remote device is detected, the interface logic transmits an interface to the remote device that converts the remote device to be a remote control device. The remote control device provides selected configuration information for controlling an image device. The control logic is to provide control signals for reconfiguring the image device based, at least in part, on the selected configuration information received from the remote device.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2009Date of Patent: April 30, 2013Assignee: Marvell International LtdInventors: Vasanth Shreesha, Sarma V. Patent number: 7483834Abstract: The invention includes an apparatus and method of providing information using an information appliance coupled to a network. The method includes storing text files in a database at a remote location and converting, at the remote location, the text files into speech files. A portion of the speech files requested are downloaded to the information appliance and presented through an audio speaker. The speech files may include audio of electronic program guide (EPG) information, weather information, news information or other information. The method also includes converting the text files into speech files at the remote location using an English text-to-speech (TTS) synthesizer, a Spanish TTS synthesizer, or another language synthesizer. A voice personality may be selected to announce the speech files.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2001Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Saiprasad V. Publication number: 20040194137Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for presenting program guide content in an audio format is disclosed. The program guide content is presented by receiving a program guide and a program having an audio component, aurally presenting the audio component at one of at least two audio output devices, and aurally presenting the program guide at an other one of the at least two audio output devices concurrently with the aural presentation of the audio component.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2003Publication date: September 30, 2004Inventor: Vasanth Shreesha

Patent number: 6496192Abstract: A memory architecture for a video transpose memory employs SDRAM memory devices which are arranged in memory rows such that elements in a single row may be accessed without memory set-up latency. The memory architecture includes at least two memory banks such that memory write operations to one bank may be interleaved with memory write operations to the other bank. Samples of the image along one direction are stored into the memory in groups such that corresponding samples in the orthogonal direction are held in the same memory row. The memory banks are interleaved on the store operation such that consecutive write operations access respective memory rows in the alternating memory banks. The number of samples in a group of samples is selected such that the total time for displaying the number of samples in the group is at least equal to the set-up latency of the memory. Accordingly, consecutive groups of samples may be stored into the alternating memory banks continuously.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1999Date of Patent: December 17, 2002Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Vasanth Shreesha, David Nasoff

Patent number: 6386454Abstract: An area of interest is scanned to produce pixels of the scanned area. The pixels are divided into a plurality of blocks. For each block, an orientation of a spanning line or a lack of orientation is determined. Contiguous ones of the blocks are clustered, when their orientation is within a certain tolerance level. Each cluster has a length and a width. The length is longer than the width. If the orientation of a cluster's block is perpendicular to the length of that cluster, that cluster is selected as a bar code candidate.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2001Date of Patent: May 14, 2002Assignee: Accu-sort Systems, Inc.Inventors: Kurt Hecht, Milorad Neskovic, Vasanth Shreesha, Edward Cohen

Patent number: 6193158Abstract: A system for high speed acquisition and decoding of a barcode symbol locates potential barcode candidates within a scanned image and filters the candidates to eliminate invalid data. The system permits computational resources to be focused on decoding information most likely to be an actual barcode symbol. Once a potential barcode candidate has been located, the barcode symbol is processed to determine the barcode orientation and symbology. Each element of the barcode symbol is then located, even if all elements are not visible in the original image, and the barcode symbol is decoded in accordance with the specific symbology.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2000Date of Patent: February 27, 2001Assignee: Accu-Sort Systems, Inc.Inventors: Kurt Hecht, Milorad Neskovic, Vasanth Shreesha, Edward Cohen

Patent number: 5798516Abstract: A hand-held scanning device employs apparatus for varying the depth of field of the scanning device. The scanning device comprises a gun-shaped housing for comfortably fitting within the hand of an operator. The scanning device is actuated by a finger-activated trigger, which moves a CCD sensor on an image plane as the trigger is pulled. In this manner, focusing for large depth of field applications is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1996Date of Patent: August 25, 1998Assignee: Accu-Sort Systems, Inc.Inventor: Vasanth Shreesha
