  • Publication number: 20210238410
Abstract: A polyester composition comprising, based on the total weight of the polyester composition, a first polyester and a second polyester, wherein a weight ratio of the first polyester to the second polyester is 80:20 to 20:80, preferably 60:40 to 40:60; 5 to 60 weight percent (wt %), preferably 5 to 50 wt % of a reinforcing filler; and 5 to 60 wt %, preferably 10 to 50 wt %, more preferably 20 to 50 wt % of an inorganic filler having a specific gravity of greater than 3 grams per cubic centimeter, as determined in accordance with ASTM D792, wherein a molded article comprising the polyester composition has a sound transmission loss of greater than 30 dB, preferably 35 to 50 dB, more preferably 36 to 45 dB, as determined at 1,250 Hz according to ASTM E1050 using a molded disc with a diameter of 100 mm and a thickness of 3.2 mm.

  • Publication number: 20120109569
Abstract: A system for evaluating bearing metal temperature (BMT) to diagnose rotor misalignment and/or bearing wipe in an electrical machine. A first system is provided that includes: an input system for obtaining bearing metal temperature (BMT) readings from a first BMT sensor located proximate the turbine and a second BMT sensor located proximate the generator, and for obtaining operational data including lube oil inlet temperature, speed and power; a filter system for filtering bad input data; and a misalignment analysis system that issues a misalignment warning in response to one of the BMT sensor reporting an increasing temperature and the other BMT sensor reporting a decreasing temperature.

  • Publication number: 20120101768
Abstract: A system, method and computer program for diagnosing thermal anomalies in a stator of an electrical machine. A first system is provided that includes an input system for obtaining RTD readings over time from at least one sensor in a stator winding; a normalization system for normalizing each RTD reading with respect to armature current; and an analysis system for analyzing a trend in a set of normalized RTD readings to indicate thermal behavior of the stator winding. A second system is provided that includes an input system for obtaining a set of RTD readings from a plurality of sensors in a common axial location in a stator winding; a calculation system for calculating a difference value between a maximum value and a median value from the set of RTD readings; and an analysis system for analyzing a trend over time in a set of difference values to indicate thermal behavior of the stator winding.

  • Publication number: 20110278209
Abstract: A liquid pressure monitoring system for a circuit of a machine is provided. The system includes a flow meter configured to measure a flow rate of liquid flowing through the circuit, the circuit including a strainer and a cooling section, at least one sensor configured to measure a pressure of at least one portion of the circuit; and a monitoring component for generating an alarm, in response to a value based on the measured pressure exceeding an expected pressure drop, wherein the expected pressure drop is based on the flow rate and at least one flow coefficient.
