Patent number: 11907324Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating and modifying a workflow comprising a series of webpages based on an online document. A document management system accesses an online document selected by a user and classifies each field of the online document into one of a set of categories. For each category, the system generates a form webpage comprising questions corresponding to each field classified as the category and combines the generated webpages to create a workflow. The system may modify the workflow by generating and adding one or more additional form webpages based on one or more answers provided by an entity completing the webform page. In response to the entity completing the modified generated workflow, the system generates a completed document based on the online document and the answers provided by the entity.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2022Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: DocuSign, Inc.Inventors: Gustavo Both Bitdinger, Mangesh Prabhakar Bhandarkar, Nipun Dureja, Vasudevan Sampath, Robert Sherwin, Duane Robert Wald, Mark Spencer Seabourne, Claire Marie Small, David Minoru Hirotsu, Dia A. Abulzahab, Li Xu, Brent Weston Robinett, Jerome Levadoux, Ellis David Berner, Jun Gao, Andrew James Ashlock, Jacob Scott Mitchell

Patent number: 9028680Abstract: A method and system for handling viscous liquid crude hydrocarbons is disclosed. The method involves (a) solvent deasphalting at least a portion of an asphaltene-containing liquid crude hydrocarbon feedstock to form an asphaltene fraction and a deasphalted oil (DAO) fraction essentially free of asphaltenes; (b) adjusting the density of the asphaltene fraction to substantially the same density of a carrier for the asphaltene fraction; (c) forming coated asphaltene particles from the asphaltene fraction of step (b); (d) slurrying the coated asphaltene particles with the carrier; and (e) transporting the slurry to a treatment facility or a transportation carrier.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2010Date of Patent: May 12, 2015Assignee: Chevron U.S.A. Inc.Inventors: Gunther Hans Dieckmann, John Segerstrom, Cesar Ovalles, Estrella Rogel, Vasudevan Sampath, Donald L. Kuehne, Hariprasad Janakiram Subramani, Dennis John O'Rear

Patent number: 8715513Abstract: Disclosed is a compact liquid-liquid separation device useful for the separation of oil and water in hydrocarbon production operations, as well as systems and methods for use thereof. The device includes a separator body of generally vertical pipe having an upper portion and a lower portion, and an inlet to the separator body of generally horizontal pipe in fluid communication with the separator body and attached to the separator body between the upper section and the lower section. The inlet has a round cross-section portion and a reducing area nozzle portion in which the horizontal width of the inlet decreases symmetrically with proximity to the separator body. The vertical interface between the inlet and the separator body has a generally rectangular cross-section.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2012Date of Patent: May 6, 2014Inventors: Ivan Mantilla, Vasudevan Sampath, Carlos Manuel Avila

Patent number: 8574350Abstract: A water separation system and method for treating multiphase hydrocarbon production streams is disclosed. The system may be employed to separate gas from the production stream, and then separate the liquid stream into its oil component and water component. A gas/liquid separator may be employed to separate a multiphase hydrocarbon production stream into a gas stream and a liquid stream. A liquid cyclone separator, positioned downstream from the gas/liquid separator, may be employed to divide the liquid stream into an oil dominated portion and a water dominated portion. The system may be used on land or on offshore platforms in locations where it is desirable to separate oil and water from hydrocarbon streams.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2010Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Chevron U.S.A. Inc.Inventors: Vasudevan Sampath, Ivan Mantilla, Carlos Avila, Gene Kouba, John Strader, John D. Marrelli
