  • Publication number: 20240084604
Abstract: A window well is composed of a fiber reinforced plastic and an outer layer. The window well also has a body having multiple ribs interposed between multiple wall surface portions. Each rib is positioned between two different wall surface portions and is defined by a corresponding height and depth. The outer layer includes a fabric veil that is at least partially embedded into the thermoplastic. The fabric veil can be made of different types of fabric material. The fabric veil can also have a multi-colored printed pattern that imitates the texture of a natural material. The outer layer of the window well improves the aesthetics of the window well and provides increased durability.

  • Publication number: 20240084605
Abstract: A modular window well insert is composed of a long fiber reinforced plastic. The modular insert has at least some fibers that are omnidirectional relative to the other fibers in the plastic. The window well insert is configured in size and shape to be attached to an existing window well, having a matching width and depth of the existing window well. In some instances, the module well insert also has a recessed section that facilitates mating the window well insert to the window well.

  • Patent number: 9080054
Abstract: A medical device comprises parts made by injection moulding and parts made by machining such that the respective parts have similar colors, measured on the L*, a*, b* scale. The parts made by injection moulding may be made in a process which involves introducing molten material comprising polymeric material such as PEEK into a mould, wherein a mould surface which contacts the molten material is at a temperature of at least 210° C. and maintaining the molten material in the mould for at least 90 seconds.

  • Publication number: 20140200466
Abstract: Topographical features, such as projections or recesses, having a maximum dimension which is less than 3 ?m, with the features being separated by a distance which is less than 10 ?m are transferred to polyetheretherketone, on an industrial scale, by injection moulding relatively low viscosity PEEK, using a mould in which is arranged a master structure which carries the desired topography. The topographical features increase the water contact angle of a surface which includes them and such a modified surface has been shown to influence cell attachment and differentiation. Parts which incorporate the topographical features may be used in medical devices such as implantable medical devices for cardiology or for neuromodulation.

  • Patent number: 6615440
Abstract: A plumbing snake diverting apparatus for deflecting a plumbing snake out of a main stack pipe and into a secondary pipe extending from the main stack pipe. The plumbing snake diverting apparatus includes an tubular extension member which is selectively couplable to any number of curved, tubular diverting members depending on the size of the pipe. The apparatus is then positioned with a leading edge of the diverting member at the intersection of the main stack pipe and the pipe to be cleared. The plumber's snake is then deflected into the secondary pipe upon insertion.
