  • Patent number: 4299885
Abstract: An improved polymer additive characterized by excellent stability to hydrolysis. Dialkyl pentaerythritol diphosphites are encapsulated in a petroleum or ester wax and thereby rendered relatively immune to decomposition under ordinary conditions of storage. At the same time, the wax coating is sufficiently low melting as to present no problem during milling operations at elevated temperatures, for example, where the heat stabilizing qualities of the dialkyl pentaerythritol diphosphite are required.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 24, 1979
Date of Patent: November 10, 1981
    Assignee: Borg-Warner Chemicals, Inc.
Inventors: Ved K. Sahajpal, Jacques Delaere, Zigmunt K. Kromolicki, Mattheus R. Settels
  • Patent number: 4206103
Abstract: A vinyl chloride polymer composition containing small proportions of a dialkyl pentaerythritol diphosphite and a solid, aliphatic polyhydroxy compound. The composition is characterized by good thermal stability and resistance to coloration on exposure to ultraviolet light.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 25, 1978
Date of Patent: June 3, 1980
    Assignee: Borg-Warner Corporation
Inventors: Zigmunt K. Kromolicki, Ved K. Sahajpal, Cornelis Van Gelder
  • Patent number: 4133788
Abstract: A polymer latex which is cross-linked by a dialkyl tin diacrylate. The latex is a good substrate for the preparation of graft copolymers which are effective to impart good impact and high stress whitening properties to vinyl chloride polymers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 23, 1978
Date of Patent: January 9, 1979
    Assignee: Borg-Warner Corporation
