  • Patent number: 11295124
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer-readable storage media for scanning a document to detect a source of the document. The document can be scanned to obtain content from the document. An automatic search of an electronic network can be then performed to determine if there is an exact match or a partial match between the content of the document and the results of search automatic search. If an exact match or a partial match is generated as a result of automatically searching the electronic network, a user can be presented with various selection options via a GUI for retrieving, viewing and printing search results of the automatic search.

  • Publication number: 20200293165
Abstract: An electronic transaction device includes a transaction card reader, which reads information from a transaction card. A language identification component identifies a language preference of a user of the card, based on the information read from the card. A template selection component selects a language template, based on the identified language preference. A user interface generator uses the language template to generate a user interface for display to the user on an associated display device in the preferred language. A user is thus able to select a language for completing a transaction which is not dependent on a location of the electronic transaction device or the card issuer's location.

  • Patent number: 9971291
Abstract: A media path moves media sheets from a media supply, a print engine receives the media sheets from the media path, and a sensor detects a characteristic related to the media sheets. A drive nip continuously moves the media sheets, and a stall nip receives the media sheets from the drive nip. The stall nip is positioned less than the length of one of the media sheets from the drive nip. The stall nip alternately stops or moves the media sheets while the drive nip continuously moves the media sheets, as controlled by a controller, to cause the media sheets to buckle between the drive nip and the stall nip. The controller controls when to stop or move the media sheets to constantly vary the size of the buckle, and thereby make the buckle relatively larger for a first characteristic and make the buckle relatively smaller for a different characteristic.

  • Patent number: 9819824
Abstract: Devices and methods are described that facilitate the creation of a digital image of an object using a custom scan area size. Custom scan area sizes are stored and displayed so as to eliminate cumbersome steps such as measuring irregularly-sized objects more than once or processing the digital image after scanning the object to remove undesirable “white space.

  • Patent number: 9690270
Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and apparatus for cooling a device are disclosed. For example, the method sets at least one accumulator increment rate, an accumulator decrement rate, at least one threshold value, and an accumulator value maximum based on empirical data associated with the device, tracks an accumulator value up to the accumulator value maximum based upon productivity of the device, wherein the accumulator value is adjusted based on an integral of the at least one accumulator increment rate and the accumulator decrement rate and operates a fan of the device based upon the accumulator value rising above the threshold value or falling below the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 9467580
Abstract: A multifunction device (MFD) includes a control system and a plurality of associated local user interfaces including a first local user interface in communication with the control system for user selection of a selected one of a first group of mutually exclusive operations under the control of the control system and a second local user interface in communication with the control system for user selection of a selected one of a second group of mutually exclusive operations, different from the first group of operations, which are under the control of the control system. The device optionally includes a third local interface in communication with the control system, which serves as an interface between the first and second local user interfaces and the control system.

  • Publication number: 20160241736
Abstract: Systems and methods for a multifunction device, a control system has a processor in data communication with a memory. A local user interface is connected to the control system. A portable data storage device is connected to a port. The local user interface provides user selection of one of mutually exclusive document delivery workflow operations under control of the control system. The local user interface provides user selection of a source for a document recipient's address according to one of the document delivery workflows. Upon selection of the source for the document recipient's address being the portable data storage device, the processor scans the portable data storage device and displays files containing addresses on the local user interface. The local user interface receives selection of designated recipient's address according to the selected document delivery workflow. The processor saves each the designated recipient's addresses in the memory.

  • Publication number: 20150347367
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for automatically recording user experience feedback via an electronic device having or associated with a local user interface. A user experience feedback commenting module can be associated with the device to permit selection of a feedback mode utilizing a clearly marked toggle (e.g., UI soft- or hard-button) displayed on the user interface. The feedback comment about, for example, a particular device feature can be provided by the user when he or she enters data using, for example, a soft keyboard or other input feature displayed by the user interface. A user interface screen prior to switching into the feedback mode can be captured in response to activation of a screen capture option. The feedback comment can be captured in association with a reference number upon activation of a submit button and then transmitted to a collecting department or organization during a feedback collection mode.

  • Patent number: 8711401
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate sorting used printed sheets of paper or other media, identifying reusable pages (i.e., pages without print on one or both sides), and outputting the reusable pages for reuse. If print is detected on one side of a used page, a security or interference pattern, or a blackout pattern, is printed over the detected print (e.g., text or the like) to conceal or obscure the print to render it illegible. In this manner, potentially sensitive or confidential information is concealed, and the reusable pages are output for use in a user-selected application (e.g., label printing, etc.) while ensuring that confidential information is obscured.
