  • Patent number: 7865167
Abstract: A method and a device used for displaying wideband information to a user has a return channel made through a cellular mobile terminal providing interactivity. The device includes a receiver for communicating in a first band of radio frequencies and a transmitter for communicating in a second band of radio frequencies. The method includes receiving information in a symbol-wise manner with the receiver in a first band of RF frequencies; generating a notification of an occurrence of a burst transmission from the transmitter; and in response to the notification, terminating the reception of the information for a portion of one symbol time corresponding to a duration of the burst transmission. The method may include an optional step, further in response to the notification, of reducing power consumption by turning off at least a portion of the receiver for a period of time corresponding to the duration of the burst transmission.

  • Publication number: 20030236065
Abstract: A method and a device used for displaying wideband information to a user has a return channel made through a cellular mobile terminal (CMT) providing interactivity. The device (10) has a first antenna (12) and a second antenna (20), a receiver (14, 16) that is coupled to the first antenna and a transmitter (24) that is coupled to the second antenna. The method includes receiving information in a bit-wise manner with the receiver in a first band of RF frequencies; generating a notification of an occurrence of a burst transmission from the transmitter; and in response to the notification, terminating the reception of the information for a portion of one bit time corresponding to a duration of the burst transmission. The method may include an optional step, further in response to the notification, of reducing power consumption by turning off at least a portion of the receiver for a period of time corresponding to the duration of the burst transmission.

  • Patent number: 5649320
Abstract: A receiver and a method of setting the frequency of the reference signal in the receiver, the receiver comprising a voltage controlled crystal oscillator which provides the reference frequency for a synthesizer. The synthesizer in turn produces the local oscillator frequency signal in the receiver. Temperature fluctuations in the crystal are compensated for by microprocessor control of the oscillator. The reference frequency is accurately set by incrementaly scanning the signal channel until a signal of magnitude greater than a predetermined level is detected, whereupon the receiver locks onto said detected signal and instructs the oscillator to produce a reference frequency signal of a certain frequency according to the frequency of said detected signal.

  • Patent number: 5446772
Abstract: An integrated circuit bus for the transmission of a serial data signal, to be used in integrated circuits, wherein the data is clocked only to one addressed register, and thus cross-talk is reduced. In the bus all information signals are contained in one signal. The data transmission is based on pulses of different lengths corresponding to different states.

  • Patent number: 5446417
Abstract: A controlled oscillator comprising a delay chain having a plurality of series coupled delay lines, the output of the delay chain being fed back as an input to each of the delay lines. Each delay line comprising an invertor such that the delay imparted by the invertor is controlled by a voltage controlled resistance means. The length of the delay chain is controlled by a selection control means which in turn controls the frequency range of operation of the oscillator.
