    Abstract: The invention relates to the cooling of a rotary kiln with a liquid cooling agent. According to the invention, the cooling agent is distributed to form an essentially even liquid blanket above the rotary kiln (1). In order to achieve this, a number of baffle plates (6) and/or nozzle pipes (9) is arranged at an equal height with respect to the surface of the rotary kiln (1).
