    Abstract: A stylus carriage drive comprising a lead screw having a stylus carriage mounted thereon which moves linearly in one direction or the other depending on the sense of rotation of the lead screw. The stylus carriage includes means which cause a print head mounted on the stylus to engage the print medium when the stylus carriage moves in the print direction and to disengage the print medium during carriage return.
