  • Publication number: 20230374084
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a peptide and its analogs that selectively inhibit the NaV1.7 sodium channel. The present disclosure also relates to pharmaceutical compositions useful for treating or preventing a disorder responsive to the blockade of sodium ion channels, especially NaV1.7 sodium ion channels. The present disclosure provides methods of treating a disorder responsive to the blockade of sodium channels, and particularly NaV1.7 sodium channels, in a mammals. The present disclosure further provides compositions and methods for providing analgesia by administering a peptide of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20170051021
Abstract: The present invention refers to peptides functionally related to Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR-5) ligand, having a sequence of amino acids ordered by means of the protein informational analysis techniques using the informational spectrum method with reference to the informational properties of flagellin. The sequence has in the informational spectrum the frequency of virtually the same value as the frequency characteristic determining the flagellin/TLR-5 interaction.

  • Publication number: 20010007017
Abstract: This invention relates to peptide sequences which react with human antibodies whose titer in sera of individuals infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1 (HIV-1) correlates with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) progression. Hence, these peptides are useful in preparing test kits for the prognostic evaluation of the disease progression, as well as for monitoring the effect of the antiviral therapy on HIV-1 infectivity and modulate immune network. These peptides are also useful in vaccines to prevent the development of AIDS. Monoclonal antibodies against the peptides from this invention may also be used as a therapeutic agent to prevent AIDS progression.
