  • Publication number: 20020098461
Abstract: A dental mirror having a planar surface encircled by a beveled perimeter. The mirror rotatively mounted upon a spherical support ball, whereby the dentist can continually maintain the correct angle of incidence to capture and reflect light beams from a light source. The planar surface continually being capable of pivoting in relationship to the pressure by the dentist to provide the smallest angle of incidence of reflecting light beams, which is vital to securing the greatest amount of illumination to the surgical area and also in avoiding unwanted distortion of any images in the work area.

  • Patent number: 6305935
Abstract: A disposable dental contra-angle comprising a plastic housing having a sleeve, a tapered neck, a head and a disposable bur. The bur being removably coupled to a driven rotating mandrel located in the head section. The rotating mandrel having an integral axis pole member extending through and outwardly from its top and bottom portions wherein the bur is maintained in a 1:1 rotational luted connection, with virtually no slippage. The sleeve section having an elongated opening for receiving a power drive from a dental handpiece. A gear ratio mechanism located in the sleeve section rather than the head section, for either increasing or decreasing the shaft speed. A gear to gear arrangement in the head section for translating rotation from the drive shaft to the bur.

  • Patent number: 6156088
Abstract: A smoke and odor purifying system which can be incorporated within a housing that can serve both as a table centerpiece and an ashtray. The system having an esthetically pleasing flower vase construction with petal shaped appendages for resting of cigarettes or the like. A floral arrangement is made up of individual artificial flowers. Each flower having an opening in the bud for drawing in smoke-filled air and passing it through the system. Also defined within the petals of the housing are a plurality of intake openings through which cigarette smoke, as well as secondary smoke from the surrounding area may be drawn downwardly through the device. An electrically or battery powered fan means, positioned below a filtration and odor-treatment system, drives the smoke through the system which includes an electrostatic prefiltering bed followed by an activated charcoal bed, an H.E.P.A. filter and finally another activated charcoal bed containing an air freshening material.

  • Patent number: 6139449
Abstract: A golf tee having a central stem supporting three fan shaped flutes which extend vertically upwards and have extremities of point shaped vertices for holding a golf ball. The vertices having minimum contact area with the ball in order to avoid unnecessary frictional interference between ball and tee. The vertices are located high above the central stem creating an open area under the ball whereby air can flow through without prematurely imparting any motion to the ball. The flutes have notched edges to enable the golfer to be able to feel how deep the tee is being inserted into the ground.

  • Patent number: 6099309
Abstract: A disposable right angle dental handpiece comprising a plastic housing having a sleeve, a tapered neck, a head and a disposable prophy cup. The cup being removably coupled to a driven rotating member located in the head section for simultaneously cleansing the surface of the teeth as well as the surrounding tissue and gingival crevice. The sleeve having an elongated opening for receiving a power drive from a dental unit. A gear ratio mechanism located in the sleeve, rather than in the head section, for increasing the shaft speed by a factor of two to three times. A gear to gear arrangement in the head section for transferring the directional rotation from the drive shaft to the prophy cup. The prophy cup comprising a flexible body having a cavity therein with a plurality of concentric rings made of cloth or felt material for holding the cleansing paste and also to avoid splattering.

  • Patent number: 5954061
Abstract: A device comprising a filter and a rod which is capable of insertion into a cigarette cord that has a preformed conduit extending concentrically along the longitudinal axis of the cord. The rod having a plurality of perforations along its entire length, allowing for a fresh air supply to be sucked into the rod and then intermingled through the tobacco. The filter being available in various numbers of filtering ring elements which allow for a selection of filtering strength. The device is made of materials that would allow it to be reusable. As the cigarette cord burns down, the increased supply of fresh air will result in a reduction in the percentages of particulate matter (tars, nicotine, etc). By varying the number of filters, the taste will selectively be controlled by the user.
