    Abstract: A packet buffer stores packet data of packets received by a master device. The packet buffer includes a non-guaranteed buffer, a guaranteed buffer, and a reserved buffer. The non-guaranteed buffer is visible to the master device, and is not guaranteed to provide one free cell space for one cell in a first-type packet before the non-guaranteed buffer is full. The guaranteed buffer is visible to the master device, and is guaranteed to provide one free cell space for one cell in a second-type packet before the guaranteed buffer is full. The reserved buffer is invisible to the master device, and is arranged to provide headroom for the guaranteed buffer.

    Abstract: A switching fabric of a network device has a load dispatcher, a plurality of store units, a storage device, a plurality of fetch units, and a load assembler. Each of the store units is used to perform a write operation upon the storage device. Each of the fetch units is used to perform a read operation upon the storage device. The load dispatcher is used to dispatch ingress traffic to the store units, wherein a data rate between the load dispatcher and each of the store units is lower than a data rate of the ingress traffic. The load assembler is used to collect outputs of the fetch units to generate egress traffic, wherein a data rate between the load assembler and each of the fetch units is lower than a data rate of the egress traffic.

Each of the searching agents is operative to determine an associated best matching one of the data entries based on comparisons between the associated key value and the contents of the data entries provided by the memory unit.

    Abstract: A process of generating an inter-packet gap in a network device is disclosed. First, it is determined whether a next packet is available to forward from a packet buffer. The number of tokens contained in a token bucket is checked and bytes are added to the inter-packet gap and tokens are added to the token bucket, when the number of tokens contained in a token bucket is less than a predetermined number of tokens. Otherwise, the size of the inter-packet gap is reduced and tokens are taken out of the token bucket, when the number of tokens contained in a token bucket is greater than or equal to the predetermined number of tokens. Thereafter, the inter-packet gap is supplied and sent with the next packet over an interface between the network device and a network.

    Abstract: An incandescent lamp bulb which is driven by an electronic control module (ECM) and method of manufacture characterized in that an inductor comprising a magnetic element and a winding thereon is disposed within a screw shell base of the lamp bulb and surrounds the lamp exhaust tube therein. One end of the winding on the magnetic element is connected to a filament wire within the screw shell base and the other end of the inductive winding is connected to an output terminal of the ECM control module. In this manner, the inductor significantly reduces the di/dt rise time of voltage and current when a triac within the ECM module is driven to conduction on each one half cycle of the applied AC line voltage. This operation in turn produces a substantial reduction in radio frequency interference, both of radiation transmitted into space from the lamp bulb and by direct DC coupling back into the AC line voltage source.
